Dr. Jones will be treating patients with Platelet Rich Plasma

» just added a PRP page to my site. I am going to have the procedure done
» next Tuesday, I will send the video and pictures to Hairsite as well as
» adding to the blog on my site

The before and after pic on your PRP page is unbelievable, how long ago was that? Did he go on annual maintenance injection to keep the regrowth?

Dr. Jones do you have any bathe Body hair grafts in Prp then transplant it on the head,as well as inject the recipient area with PRP. Do you think it could increase BHT yield and make it viable?

I know you have had problems with ACELL but in an unrelatedevent, I spoke with mr. mannign recently and he told me a doctor recently coated beard hair grafts in ACELL then transplanted on the head. He said the grafts with ACELL grew while the other died and did not grow. Maybe Prp with the matrix could make bht grow

The picture may seem unbelievable, but you do not know how many grafts were transplanted in addition to the PRP…

That picture is not from hair transplant, it is just PRP treatment alone. I think this is just an exceptionally good responder to PRP, if Greco or Jones can produce these results in every patient, then I say we have a cure already.

Like Spanish Dude pointed out already THOSE PHOTOS ARE OF A SUBJECT WITH ALOPECIA AREATA! It is a completely different condition than Androgenic Alopecia (AGA) and the photos basically mean nothing for AGA sufferers! Alopecia Areata (AA) is a condition which normally resolves by itself within a year, without any treatment! It has nothing to do with androgens or male pattern baldness.

I find the photographs quite unfair. Average joe has no idea what areata is.

Indeed, Alopecia Areata is a totally different illness.
Sometimes it resolves by itself, and all the hair is restored.
In other cases, it persists. Maybe PRP is efficient to treat these bad cases, I don’t know. But probably Greco and Jones don’t know either.

So, I think posting this photo is a total manipulation and I am quite sad that Dr. Jones has joined these dirty tactics.

If Jones wants to show that PRP cures A.Areata, no problem, but:

  1. He must prove that PRP cures A.Areata in the persistant cases that don’t resolve by themselves.
  2. He should make very clear to the readers, that A.Areata has nothing to do with common baldness.

I can’t find the photos anymore. It seems that they have been removed, or I am looking at the wrong pages?

Hi Spanish Dude

Yes it seems your correct the photos seem to of been removed

Heres a link to Greco hair restoration with the photos on plus additional photos,If I’m correct the photos on Dr Jones site was figure 7 A:Alopecia Reata, before.B:One month after PRP.C:One year after PRP - If I remember it was just two of these photos.

The other photos don’t tell us much - See figure 6 Androgenic Alopecia, before B,8 months after PRP treatment

Lets all keep our fingers crossed, you never know.Dr Jones does a good job at letting us know all the updates, etc.

This sounds like a good idea, Dr. Jones do you think if this is worth a try using Acell? I haven’t completely given up on Acell yet.

I don’t think they are the same photos, but are very close.
I think I remember that in the “1 year after” photo, the hair was being combed.

oh, well, its not so important anyways…

Dr Greco or Dr Jones,

Can you please explain why the treatment is employed 1x a year? Does this have to do with the phases of hair growth or some other mechanism? The figure of 1 time per year seems arbitrary. Thank you.

I know this is the big question, or really the only question on most of our minds:

Does this work on male pattern baldness. On HUMAN male pattern baldness, not monkeys, mice, immuno-deficient broccoli, or whatever else they try things things on before us.

That Dr Jones has recognized the irrelevance of the pictures depicting other forms of alopecia is a good sign. The picture of MPB being treated by this I’ve seen so far doesn’t fill me with very much hope (it’s just hard to tell anything at all).

Is there nothing better, picture wise?

I had my PRP Plus (with the extracellular matrix) with Dr Greco in mid march.

Dr Greco is a top guy and his staff were excellent.

He just used a roller in my existing hair (no, you don’t need to buzz it down or shave it), drew some blood from my arm, centrifuged it, “numbed” my scalp and injected it all over my scalp at different depths. No pain.

No point in reporting anything until i am at the 4 month mark. Don’t want to raise or dash anyones hopes.

Cheers, col.

hi,

Thanks for the video, hope it works for you. A few questions : You say that the PRP procedure would be useful for people with thinning hair and terminal hair on the top of their head. Would this procedure work with people that have severe thinning, like small vellus hair on their head ?

Also, at the end of the video you say that you will closely monitor the results of your procedure (as well as of other patients). How will you investigate the results ? Is there a way you can count the density of hair before/after the procedure or will it be only a qualitative appreciation ? Also, do you take other meds (propecia or rogaine, namely) while monitoring the results ?

thanks in advance (sorry for my english :stuck_out_tongue: )

Jones has been willing to try ACELL on someone and is now trying blood platlets. He’s been willing to try these new(ish) approaches to see if they really have any efficacy. Because of him, we will be able to either know they work, or eliminate discussion about them.

Everyone ought to be grateful this guy is willing to undergo the extra effort it takes to do this (doing it, making a blog about it, recording the video of it, taking the time to post about it, training the employees that work for him about it, etc). I wish him success.

Any hairs rejuvinated by the blood platlets might have a second chance at life with continued finasteride/nizoral/minoxidil usage.
