Dr. Jones will be treating patients with Platelet Rich Plasma

Me and other users of this forum lives in europe… this PRP are free to be used in europe too, or here they needs particular others certifications? I’m very interested, i’have a large classical thinning area, with still hairs…
Some doctors working here can have some PRP?

What is the biology behind the effect? What is the PRP actually doing, and why?

Dr. Jones, did Dr. Greco say whether he is accepting new patients for this treatment? I am in Miami, it probably makes more sense for me to go to Greco’s clinic in Florida than to travel to Canada.

Hi,
Dr. Greco is certainly accepting patients. Call his office in Tampa at 1-727-791-3629 and book a treatment. He is performing the procedure on a regular basis now and feels very confident with the results,
Dr. Jones

» After spending some time with Dr. Greco last week, I was impressed enough

» The treatment seems to work best in patients with diffuse thinning rather
» than complete hair loss. It can be used in conjunction with propecia and
» minoxidil. Since we are using the patients own plasma, there is absolutely
» no risk to the patient.
» Please post further questions on this thread, I will check it daily and
» respond as best I can.
» If any patients would be interested in participating in the initial group
» of 15 patients at a discounted rate, please contact me directly through my
» site.

Dr Jones, you state it seems to work best in patients with diffuse thinning rather than complete hair loss. Does this mean 1. Dr Greco has so far tested this on patients with complete hair loss and that the results have shown to be poor or negligible if anything at all? 2. Does this also mean you don’t feel you will apply this for patients with complete hair loss? I am norwood 6/7, hair at back and around sides, though higher around sides towards the back middle. Honestly from the findings so far, would I not be deemed a candidate for you right now or even in the future with this type of treatment?

Same here, I am a NW5/6,

» » Q for Dr. Jones: Does this mean he’s done testing out Acell? I
» remember
» » he had said that he may try different protocol if the first test didn’t
» » work.
» At this point, I am done with Acell. I didn’t see any results from the

» Dr Robert Jones

I think your decision regarding Acell is a very wise one. Unless Acell doesn’t wise up, and come forward with precise and credible instructions, it is better to stop. Trialists are not cannon fodder.

Dr Jones, thank you for participating here!

Just to put the ACELL issue to rest, just what was the protocol? I think the concern has been that the wound maybe wasn’t kept “moist” all the time, i.e. that the ACELL wasn’t continuously redressed, at least not often enough. How often was ACELL (re)applied? Also, was the wound bandaged for the first couple of weeks?

Dr Jones,

In the studies it didn’t explain if you need to continue the treatment (every year, 2 years etc??) or its a one time treatment?

Does the age of the person have any effect on the results? Example I’m a 43 year old with diffuse hair loss living in Calgary, or the younger you are the better the results?

Has there been any reported side effects? What side effects could happen with this treatment?

Thanks

The video in this thread said you will need to do this once a year for maintenance at almost $1000 per year.

If this technique will be usefull to stop the hairloss will be a MIRACLE… i hope for this…

If PRP works, could it also be used to regrow hair from a previous strip scar?

This treatment can only strengthen existing hair follicles, not create new ones.

Does it mean there is no significant improvement? The picture is too small, hard to tell.
