You’re in good company MJ.

I’ve been deleted, edited and banned on these forums before for going “over the top” when getting into disagreements with fellow posters and moderators but I’m still hanging around.

Just tone down the “rhetoric” and I’m sure your posts will come through.

Are you an HT patient yourself?
Your signature doesn’t reveal anything about you so I wonder where your negativity is coming from.

Anonymous “critics” are usually patients from competing clinics.

Few of these “critics” reveal where they are posting from, what their case history is, they don’t post pictures and aren’t available to meet. Lol.

That’s been my experience on these forums.

Ciao.

Hi therapy,

I do not think Acell coating of grafts would give any benefits regarding yields regardless of the graft source.

» how many grafts he needs to get rid of hairpiece? just a crazy question.

Another 10,000-12,000 grafts may just get him there. He is not interested in this however. This is exactly what he had always wanted.

» I never thought a hairpiece would look this good, what an interesting idea
» combining hair transplant with hairpiece, he probably saves a lot of money
» too without going all the way with a hair transplant.

Dr. Umar made it look easy, think twice before you combine hairpiece with a transplant, trust me, the hairpiece will consume your life.

Ixan is right that the hairpiece issues can consume one’s life . I lived with a hairpiece covering alot of damage/scarring for nearly 14 years before my restoration by Dr Umar. But I think this particular case wasnt a case used to endorse the use of hairpiece and transplant rather a case to present how combining the two can make life much easier if one is already dealing with the difficulties of wearing a hairpiece (detectability- especially the frontal area / daily maintenance issues/etc).

I feel quite sure that Praying’s life with his hairpiece maintenance has been dramatically changed for the better with his decision to create a natural front. It looks amazing and he should have gained alot of confidence in the look he has achieved .

Hairpiece is not a bad idea as long as they don’t look like a rug on our head, you can always change your mind, come to think of it a hairpiece is probably better than getting a strip, you are stuck with the strip scars for life, no way of undoing the damage.

Is it just me, it appears that Dr. Umar and Arvind are the only ones doing body hair transplant nowadays, I haven’t seen much coming from Cole or Woods anymore and certainly no new doctors doing body hair transplant.

No doubt there is truth in that statement. I work with a guy who has a hairpiece, it is perhaps not detectable to many people at first glance, and even after realizing that its a hairpiece, its amazing how quickly you forget and even think about that when looking at him, because it looks so good and natural on him. I personally cannot envision the guy being bald. I’m pretty certain that this co worker is not going to quit the use of one anytime soon.

It’s not just you, I noticed it as well. No one else seems interested in utilizing this resource. But then again, look at how little FUE is practiced in comparison to strip

I think that you will also be seeing much more of what you see as in Praying’s case where beard hair is the first choice after scalp FUE. The beard area is truly an invaluable source especially for those of us who had such large Norwood areas to cover and also the addition of large areas of scarring to deal with. I would almost classify beard hair as a seperate category versus body hair because the expected characteristics/benefit are not the same. Beard hair was not being used at the time of my initial restoration work back in 2005 but individuals can now benefit tremendously from it.

Ok, I think it was Dr. Cooley who said he had tried that and the Acell coated beard grafts grew much better. What about using platelete rich plasma PRP? Dr. Jones, Feller and Greco have all started using the plasma. What do you think if you soak the grafts in PRP before transplanting them to the recipient?

which one is Heliboy?

Abcxyz I appreciate the compliment. Yes I’m in that patient testimonial video . I’m the second one with the slight southern accent :-)) Dr Umar has performed an absolute miracle on transforming my hair . I look at my hair every single day and still at times cant believe he could fix the absolute disaster that he started with.(my head was severely scarred) I’m so proud of where I am today and I hope that the others who deal with the physical and emotional toll of hair loss can put it behind them and live life with a bit of freedom. It feels very good. I used to almost literally live in a cave hiding from the world It feels really good to get out of the cave a live a bit.

Heliboy your hair looks really good. Dr. Umar did an amazing job on
you. If you don’t mind i have two questions for you.

How would you rate the quality of your body hair and
approximately how many sq. cm. area you had covered.

Heliboy,

Your hair appears to be very natural from the video, it doesn’t look like body hair, what if you grew your hair long, will that make any difference? will the hair also appear just as natural? who would have thought, we can put chest hair on our scalp
