This question is very important. Someone, when I had posted about this before said they believe that follicles do not die, they hibernate, or go into an inactive growth faze
Are there any studies which state that even in long term bald areas the
follicles were found to be still capable of producing hair? how would they measure this
I asked for hair transplant docs opinion on this , but one poster pointed out they are not exactly in the business of encouraging guys that their hair can be regrown…true. I was hoping when they cut open the scalps of bald guys they could observe that the follicles were either dormant or just there was nothing there
Are there studies, for example pete may know this, to back up this theory.
My theory is or was, depends on the data, that the hair follicles die
after a certain point, or they get to a point where it is next to impossible to get them to regrow hair
Now, when my hair was first thinning in the crown, i regularly got tons of regrowth up there, tons of baby hairs, even the whorl pattern was re establishing itself, albeit a very small area of progress it was visible
I could even achieve this 5 yrs ago, very small whorl pattern hairs
now you guys say, ok hangin its because u have not tried a good topical,
my statement on this is , if there was a topical out there that regrew hair on bald spots, the hair transplant docs would go out of business
I know that statement sounds cynical but to some degree its true. I have tried several topicals and they all made my scalp burn and turn red and itchy and any baby hairs i had immediately fell out
perhaps some guys skin does not mesh with topicals
