Hogan - Spirulina Q

I just started taking Spirulina (about 4 days ago) and call me crazy but my hair has already started to thicken. It has also gained a nice shiny “coat”. So far I’m taking 10x500mg an hour before each of my 3 meals.

My question is roughly how much EPA should one be converting to omega 3 from the Spirulina? Is there any way of knowing?

Have you found that the Spirulina has replaced your EPA source of Salmon Oil?

This is what I’m currently taking:

1g Carlson’s Salmon Oil (with breakfast 180 EPA/125 DHA)
10x500mg of Spirulina (45 min before each of my 3 meals 50 GLA)
1g Borage Oil (with each of my 3 meals 240 GLA)
3x 500mg Green Tea (15 min before each meal)

Total:

870 GLA
180 EPA

I have mild inflammation in the morning and i think it’s the fish oil. I might try dropping it and see how the Spirulina holds up.

Yes, fish convert algae (spirulina) into Omega 3’s. Thats how they produce it. Everthing in the body comes from something else. You are what you eat.

There is no way of knowing how much you are converting yourself. You could get the EFA test done to see where your at. You could probably cut back on the Omega 3’s and the Omega 6’s (borage) as well. I really think the spirulina will do wonders for your hair. Please keep us updated on your progress because I think Hangin will be eating crow very soon.

I realize 4 days is literally nothing, but for the last 6 months i have had the very, very dry/dull hair. Since i have been taking Spirulina my hair seems to have a nice “coat” to it as i said before. No miracles or anything. Just a change of pace from dry desert hair.

I post on regrowth.com as well, so yes I am a real person.

I’ll keep everyone updated with my progress.

Try taking a before and after pic of your results and report back!
Your right 4 days is NOT enough. Im glad its helping your coat though.

Hogan advised Follijinxed to take 10-15 500mg Spirulina caps a day before each meal. After reading up on the health benefits of Spirulina and reading the comments on the Iherb.com product page i decided to dive in.

The inflammation in the morning i attribute to a tingling/itching feeling i have shortly after i take the fish oil. When i have this tingling sensation i can run my hands through my hair and lots of white flakes/hairs will come out. My scalp does not feel like this at any other time of the day.

I’m really not trying to cause any problems here. Hangin seems to have some kind of extreme rage at any talking point that relates to Hogan. I’m here to talk about hair not to argue.

This immunal response can be dealt with quite easily via a topical. Why not try this route rather than ingesting 10 tablets a day?

Gees Pete, you act like taking 5 grams of spirulina a day is dangerous. The label on the bottle says that is 5 grams is the recommended dosage. Spirulina is food. You wouldn’t say anything if he ate two Big Mac’s in one day would you?

Are you suggesting that 10 - 15 caps a day was recommended before EACH meal ?

Someone can have upto 3 - 4 meals a day - thats between 30 to 45 caps a day or the extreme end of upto 60 caps a day ???

Please clarify AND RECONFIRM THE ABOVE?
