Hitzig\'s PRP/Acell Photos

» » I call those very good results. Keep in mind that there are so many
» things
» » that have been tried to grow hair on bald scalps and almost none of them
» » have done anything to regrow hair. So far there are only medicines
» » approved for hair growth in the united states. We are talking about a
» very
» » difficult biological task - growing hair. If I could get the same
» » percentage increase as the people in those pics then I would go from
» about
» » a NW 3.5 to a NW 2 and that would be a big change in my life. Remember
» » that there are shampoos and the like that can make hair look about 5%
» » thicker (like toppix) so if I could get myself back to a NW 2 and then
» use
» » those illusory shampoos and thickeners to add the appearance of a little
» » more, then I might see enough improvement to satisfy me.
»
» You base that all on four pictures (which show little and dubious
» improvement)?
»
» I’m sure Propecia and Avodart and Rogaine can show you four equal or better
» pictures on at least some people who use those medications.
»
» And BTW, toppik makes you look like you’re wearing a bad wig–because
» toppik fibers–unlike actual hair–are not transluscent like your real
» hair.

OK I agree about toppix, but there are other cosmetic enhancers that look better. I used to use a good one but now that I have reached a NW3.5 I really can’t make my hair look thick anymore. I need a little more hair first.

That aside, for all I know there were only 2 patients. Remember, that Dr. Hitzig is just a guy so he does not have the financial resources that these large drug companies do. There may only be two patients. If these are the only two patients then this news is really good. If there are other patients and they all did not get results this good then that would concern me because then the issue of consistancy comes up. Remember, one of the reasons I say that this is good news is because I am thinking that Dr. Hitzig might be able to get virtually ALL of us this same percentage of new hair and arrest our present hair loss too. If he did 25 patients and only two got these good results and the rest got no positive benefit then I would cease to be excited.

Did he have more patients? How many total patients? What were all the patients results???

» Plus, what if you got more injections/treatments??? This is just one
» treatment but what if you got a few more. It might be addative. Also, Dr.
» Hitzig is even now trying to see if he can further enhance results by
» adding stem cells. I wish it was progenitor cells instead, but maybe stem
» cells might give some added benefit.

Isn’t a progenitor cell more or less just an activated stem cell? This is from the article on Hitzig’s website: http://nyhairloss.com/news/acell-matri-stem-suspended-in-arterial-blood-serumprp-platelet-rich-plasma-to-retard-geneticother-types-of-hair-loss-and-possibly-re-grow-miniaturizing-scalp-hairs/

“The way it works (in wound healing) is by recruiting huge numbers of Adult Stem Cells along with tremendous blood supply to the sight of a wound. It then effectively changes these inactive Adult Stem Cells back into Progenitor Cells (the Active Form) to direct healing by duplication of normal tissue rather than scar formation which is the only method normally available to humans for healing.”

I really don’t know what progenitor cells are…i just know that they’re cells. If all progenitor cells are is “activated” stem cells then we may have even bigger news since Dr. Histig is working toward getting some kind of stem cell treatment added to the mix and if Acell can “activate” those stem cells, and supposedly turn them into the desired progenitor cells, then the scourge of hair loss is almost behind us.

We need to wait to see what comes of his next experiment that will hopefully include the addition of the stem cell treatment he is talking about.

»
» I agree, sort of. You see a 20% improvement but i see a 20 - 25 percent
» improvement. That means I see about 1/4 more hair than the patients
» started with. Keep in mind that this is just ONE treatment Ahab and these
» are probably mediocre responders so you might do better with just one of
» Dr. Hitzig’s treatments than these two patients did, and you could get f/up
» treatments by Hitzig say once a month for 6 months say.
Then you would
» have 6 times as much of this new treatment as these people got. Plus Dr.
» Hitzig is trying to add a stem cell treatment into the mix. Plus you could
» still do other treatments like minoxidil and/or propecia. Plus there are
» cosmetic hair illusory products that create the illusion of more hair. All
» of these things considered i think that if Dr. Hitzig can continue to build
» on his sucess so far and improve his results somewhat, and if he can make
» the good results consistent so we can virtually ALL get the good results,
» plus the combo of things like doing more than just one of Dr. Histig’s
» injection/treatment sessions and minoxidil/propecia, plus a good cosmetic
» thickener to add illusory thickness to our hair, then I think that a lot of
» us might be satisfied.

Hitzig is charging 3000$ US for one treatment with PRP/Acell. Follow up treatments, once a month for 6 months would cost you 18,000$.

…times two!

» …times two!

And who are you? Roger Spaz?

the price might come down if he starts getting big volume for it. whatever. the point is that he is making progress and I want to see the results of his next experiment, which will include a stem cell treatment.

I don’t mind naysayers because we are here to discuss the positives and negatives of things, but some of the negative posts are like personal attacks against Dr. Hitzig, who is trying to help us. Some of these posters are clearly the peanut gallery.

Thanks, i think a lot of posters here are

a) shills for other clinics who desperately wnat to sell their strip hts

b) trolls with botched hair transplants in the past who never leave their house

c) people who are in their 50s or so and cannot stand the effort right now, that people in their 30s wont have to suffer the way they did in the past

d) people who want their hair back and see the efforts and the progression but are just to fed up and hateful to be happy.

I’m going to ignore the trolls and peanut gallery. I will continue to discuss with guys who raise intelligent doubts like Ahab does. It’s a good debate and that is what we are here for, but I don’t want to waste my time on peanut gallery types anymore.

Let’s hope that Dr. Hitzig’s next effort adding stem cells to the mix improves the results. Le’t keep our fingers crossed.

You are right, its not worth the effort.

So first of all i hope that this PRP/Acell thing stops progressing hairloss in general. This would be another milestone especialle for diffuse thinners and onor minituarizing in general.

Yeah but Ahab is also a little bit too pessimistic and stuff

» What do you guys think?
»
» http://nyhairloss.com/portfolio/acell-prp-case-studies/

Please do not quantify the case giving random numbers, I personally do not see almost nothing.
I propose instead for an objective assessment of prp (and also for the transplant, why not) the method of counting
hair (not the vellus) in various areas before and after the procedure. Only this way we can judge. I no longer trust the photos.

Ok ok good point but how do you explain the curl on the vertex area which has slightly come back

And also the longer frontal hairs in zone 1 and 2  you dont need a counter to see those impacts actually

Ok, let’s continue with the other things …

Btw Mother Theresa was not as holy as you may think even Gandhi was not as Holy but this is something for the off toppic area here.

Nevertheless, i think you will be more then psyched about my gho Criticism to destroy my arguments so feel free to discuss but please no more Gerald Stuff and no more hasci links cause it seems that everytime you post something and people see hasci in it, they wont click on it (like myself)
