I can only go from my own experience over many years in how I feel and how I perform. Long before I became aware of sites such as the one in which I posted a link. It’s good to take in as much information as possible and come to one’s own conclusion.
Not much different than making a decision towards having a hair transplant. I can only share what I know but it’s really up to each person to make their own minds up.
Today at the grocery store, i picked up a carton of chocolate soy milk. I’ll try to add more nutrient dense foods to my diet and see if it does anything.
Soy is more of an anti nutrient and is very far off from being healthy. Experts like to link any health benefits of soy in the diet to the long use by the Chinese. That soy was fermented and used in very small quantities, not even comparable. Soy is very easy to grow, very high profit per acre, and is very versatile. People believe soy is healthy because that is what they have been conditioned to believe. As the saying goes, follow the money it applies here.
Most people would be deathly afraid to follow some of my dietary habits. Yet they are not afraid to be on a statin, cox 2 inhibitor, or an SSRI. Why do they hold this belief and who has put that belief in their head. They certainly were not born with these thoughts. Sometimes we have to question what we believe and why we believe it.
I will be taking my 1 month photos at the end of this week and everything is looking very good.

I bought this :
It looks like they fortify it with vits & minerals. Surely it can’t be bad ? I bought some Vector cereal which is supposedly upscale cereal no doubt fortified with more vits & minerals.
In addition, I bought Bugs bunny multi-vitamins today so I can’t possibly be missing any nutrients from my diet.
I also started cutting down on my fast food intake. I bought some fresh veges and fruits even though I’m too lazy to cook & do the dishes. One more reason why I need a wife.
Congratulations my friend. You have definitely been fighting a great battle, and you results look great thus far. Thanks for sharing your experience and good luck with everything. I’m very intrigued by body hair results and appreciate you sharing your great result. Keep us posted
Freddie, Bugs Bunny vitamins I hope you are just joking. I do like the way that you post because I often find myself getting a laugh. Vitamins and minerals are best consumed as they are naturally intended through nutrient dense foods and not through fortification. Fixodent which is in the news right now is good example. Many are experiencing extensive nerve damage and ending up in wheel chairs because of the high zinc levels. That doesn’t happen with food. It also goes to show you that it takes years and years for a connection to be made with a drug, even OTC and an ailment. In my opinion those that think they are getting away without any unintended consequences from using hair loss medications are only fooling themselves. After 20+ years of use it will be too late to reverse any ill effects. Not trying to scare anyone, it’s just my opinion that it’s not worth the extra hair.
Eurohair it’s so important to document the progress for others. That’s why I don’t quite understand why huge sessions of plucking are being done, yet I have not seen one picture of any progress during any point post procedure.
Atticus thanks for the support. Dr. Bisanga believes in using only robust hairs coming from the chest and beard area, and I would have to agree as the yield is very high. I have seen some of this highly touted repair doctors and their 20,000+ scalp/body hair sessions and judging by the results I would guess the yield was 50%. In my opinion that is more about extracting dollars then hairs.
Thus far I have had only 2 very small sessions of about 800+ fue each. I believe that in about 6 months that total of 1600 will be making quite a difference.
Hi Topcat, sorry to hear about your difficulties. Sounds like things are starting to improve for you; hopefully you’re past the worst of it.
I have a question: suppose that you never had a procedure done in the past, and that you’re at your current age, with a virgin scalp and your degree of baldness is what your genetics would dictate it be at this age. In this hypothetical situation, knowing what you know now, would you have a procedure done with todays technology (fue/fut), or would you not do anything at all?

I see somebody already asked this question and you replied. My bad!
I bought Centrum vits once and was shocked at how large the horse pills were. It turned my urine so bright yellow, I could probably paint a fence with it. I was pissing half the vits out. I imagine it takes a toll on the kidneys filtering the excess out.
So I switched to much lower dosage chilren’s vits. I usually alternate between Flintstones and Bugs Bunny to keep life interesting.
I agree that vits are best consumed from natural sources. But I don’t have time to cook. I wish there was such a concept as ‘rent-a-wife’. I need someone to do the cooking, cleaning and then some.
I get your point about the unknown long term effects of taking avodart/propecia and other goodies. It would be some cruel irony if the cure for MPB came out a few years from now and I found myself impotent. I weigh that thought against the misery of not having my hair for 10 to 20 years. MPB is a disease of the human spirit and it takes a toll in all kinds of ways both physical & mental.
My plan all along was to use these meds as a stepping stone to whenever a cure for this miserable disease comes out. I have no other option.
Freddie I misunderstood and thought you were joking about the Bugs Bunny vitamins. Try to at least buy something that is of higher quality.
Don’t feel bad about not having time for nutrition, and cooking it’s the same for most. But they always do end up having time for chemotherapy, radiation, insulin injections, and open heart surgery somewhere down the line. It’s always amazing to see they finally found some extra time.

Bugs Bunny & Flintstone multi vitamins are made by Bayer which is a major drug manufacturer. Bayer is also the maker of aspirin. I’m sure they must be testing it for quality and safety - especially since its for kids. I avoid the Walmart inhouse brand multi-vits as I’m scared their offshore third party suppliers might slip some rat poison in or cut corners to save money.
If not this vit, then which would you reccommend ? Ideally I’d prefer not to take a large horse pill like Centrum. It upsets my stomach and the dosage is way too high for man or beast. Especially beast.
Its still early days with your transplant but i notice your head still looking red in the transplanted area. Some guys have posted pics where their head looks healed & normal after a transplant in 7 days! Why the huge variance.
Can’t say I see cosmetically significant growth just yet. I’ll wait for the 6th month mark before ringing the alarm bell.
I hope for the both of us Histogen or those German researchers have the cure and will bring it to market in 5 years as they profess. I’d sure like to get my hair and my life back and close the book on this sh&t.
Freddie my head and chin are a little red from the cold dry weather here in Chicago. I have also been shoveling a tremendous amount of snow along with wearing a hat to the gym while hitting the heavy bag and sweating too much. As soon as I lose the hat it will not be a problem.
You got the perfect body and facial structure and beard to look above average with a buzzed down head I’d wager.
If I were you I’d forget about getting back a full frontal head of hair. Instead focus on trying to find a way to look good with a buzzed head. i.e. filling in scar tissue from previous strip transplants with hair, seeing if there’s any way to dissolve the strip scar with chemical peels or something (i’m not too knowledgeable in this area but I’ve heard of some strip transplant guys who also long to shave their heads were looking into such a solution). Ask around for before-after pics. Again research it carefully before taking my word for it and making the situation worse rather than better.
You look cool with that black beanie & stubble beard. Frankly I’d like to copy that style myself except I look like a caveman when I grow a beard.
topcat iam honest you dont look like a 40 year old, man you god the perfect body holy crap:-|
How long did that take, cause thats exactly the shape i was going to try, but my problem is, when i do sport i get muscles but slim down extremely and this looks like a spartan on crack or so.
@topcat : and also i like to thank you for your pictures because your case gives also hope to hairloss sufferers in general. Because i say “You should just say goodbye to you hair forever, when the fat lady sings”
@Freddie: I dont wanna rain on your “sometimes a little bit over the top pitty parade” but your best bet in the next two years will be Acell/plucking or Acell/FUE multiplication.
One thing is for sure, even with Histogen, everyone who wants the frame work back will need a hairtransplant. So my advise to you Freddie555 is pretty simple in nature. Call your hair transplant surgeons around you or the ones you know and ask them to involve Acell in their transplants.
I did this also in germany and around but only one was interested the others came up with really stupid excuses, which i dont wanna share here.
The earlier we start making them aware of this the better.

Stevie, thank you I feel better and have more energy and stamina at 48 than I ever did at 28. To sum things up in just a sentence I would say to get your body to produce the least amount of insulin possible and don’t be afraid to eat fat. People are conditioned to eat what the big food processors want them to eat but don’t know it.
Regarding my skin looking a little red in the picture. This has more to do with the cold dry air here in Chicago along with just coming back from the gym and working up a sweat. This picture of the beard donor might be a better representation as I took it this morning.
StevieDee, too much of what is marketed as promoting health is a lot of horsesh*t. It’s just conditioning and instilling beliefs in people so that the marketer can profit. Much like the HT industry and its marketing strategies. I read on another forum a poster commenting on a so called expert repair doctor that uses bht which does give me a bit of a laugh. I have been around long enough to know better. But what is interesting is to watch the marketing strategy over the course of many years and seeing the perception people develop. They make these assumptions and parrot what others have stated as fact, when they are really clueless.
It is coming along well topcat. I think you will see a good improvement once this grows in. As for the redness this will disappear in time. I am fighting the flu but will post my pics in the next two weeks. I am at the 5 month mark since my last surgery and the crown is coming in nicely.
