Chances of seeing a cure in your lifetime if you\'re over 40yrs old = 0%

If you are 40 or older, you may as well forget about getting your hair back.

Even assuming a cure is in the works today (and that’s a big assumption), it will take at least 7 to 10 years to hit the market and for you to get your hair restored.

Lets say you are 40. You will be 50 by the time you get a full head of hair. Who is going to care about a 50 yr old man? Where will you be at 50 and will it matter. The best years of your life have passed you by already.

Only a person who is lets say 25 or under will be saved if a cure comes out soon. Of course you will always hear that the cure is “just 5 years away”. I bet back in 1970, they must have thought the same.

This disease is like being raped with no person to save you. You just got to take the injustice and there’s no way to fight back. F&#* it all.

Although healthy skepticism is needed, there’s many companies working to find a cure for hair loss. I wouldn’t write off a cure just yet. As for 50 years olds being unwanted, i disagree. Lots of guys 50+ have active sex lives with women finding them attractive. Stay positive and keep hope alive.

Can you do me and us all a favor? Stop your useless " The World goes down" bullcrap postings, its getting old.

Thanks in advance, even with me being in my mid 20s i think your postings are annoying.

During the 70s there was no such thing as bio-engineering like today.

And if someone is 50…well i dont know what i wanted to say cause your thread annoys the living shi* out of me.

Cry me a river pal, cry me a river

I would think the women finding balding 50+ year olds attractive would be far & few in number. Maybe if they were rich men. Also a certain percentage of 50 years olds can’t even get it up (LOL) which defeats the whole purpose.

What’s worse is that hair loss ages men by at least 10 years if not more. So if you are 30 you look 40 and if you are 40 you look 50.

I’m hopeful for a cure and I’m sure one will come eventually. But I doubt it will happen during the significant part of my life. If it happens in my 50s, 60s or 70s… that will be some cruel irony.

There are so many great women whom I’d really like to meet being a young man. But I doubt they’d want to go out with me due to this disease. I’m not whining, just being realistic.

What is your norwood scale?

I’m hopeful for a cure but I doubt its coming anytime soon. You are going to live out your 20s and 30s bald but you may be the last generation to do so (at least I hope).

I doubt that i will live my 30s complete bald i can give you that.

You know only because you are pissed about your situation doesnt mean you cant change it.

If you cant wait get yourself a HT or so. There are always possibilities

well … every generation thinks the way we do… we think “we’ve never had bio-engineering like today” in the 70s they were like “no generation has had the computing capacity of today…” or “the needles we produce today are much finer than the ones used in the 50s”…

sure we have some knowledge of bio engineering… however we don’t know yet for sure if it’s gunna deliver the solution… i am optimistic however… eventho i dont think we’ll be seeing a silver bullet solution any time soon… but possibly a combination of solutions, HT, plucked hairs, Histogen, Aderans… u name it… together with the financial means we could possibly create a satisfying results.

I also support this idea. These threads serve no purpose, and they aren’t supported at all by the facts.

2014 is ~3 years away, during which time both Aderans and Histogen plan to launch their procedures. Unless 40 year olds don’t plan on living to 43, I don’t know what Freddie is talking about.

Sure, Histogen and Aderans could totally flop, but Freddie has no way of knowing that - the same way he doesn’t know if they are going to be huge successes.

» Who is going to care about a 50 yr old man?

I don’t live my life caring what mere women think. If you do, you’ll never attract and keep high quality women no matter how much hair or money you have.

I care what I think.

And I’m over 60.

And when my time runs out, I hope to die with honor, by least being buried with more hair on my head than I’ve had for the last 40 years.

Anything more than that would be a bonus.

Nobody here has the Permission to die, as long as i “troll” this forum

Of course women care about looks. You are living in a fantasy land if you think they don’t. You are here because you care about yout looks. I don’t think there’s anything abnormal about caring about your appearance.

I remember some guy mentioning that he saw the science documentary NOVA in the 80s and it said baldness would be cured in 10 years.

I sometimes wonder around Walmart and I see bald guys trying to pick out a good shirt or pant. I really wonder why. No matter what nice clothes they wear, the uglyness is up top and cannot be changed. I personally don’t care about what I wear anymore because I don’t see how wearing a fancy shirt can change my appearance.

I really hope we have a cure soon but if we don’t, I gotta start thinking about how to cope with this sh&t for the rest of my young and middle age life. I’ll give up hoping when I’m 50+.

If you were a betting man and had to put your life saving’s on it, would you bet that the cure will be out within the next 10 years (out as in you’ll be back to norwood 2)?

As of November 2010, a NW6 can successfully be restored to a NW3. By November 2020, NW2 will definitely be possible.

Your hair loss only controls your life to the extent that you allow it to. Until you understand that, you will never be satisfied. If I was a betting man, I’d bet that within a week of curing baldness, you’d probably find another physical abnormality that prevents you from attracting women.

Having a nice head-of-hair might leave a good first-impression with the ladies, but no amount of hair will disguise one’s vanity. In other words, a fancy-shmancy $60,000 HT might get a lady to approach you, but she’ll probably walk away in disgust after she discovers you’re hopelessly shallow. So if you guys want a meaningless relationship than please… by all means keep thinking hair will solve ALL your problems… oh and keep trivializing women as being merely hot or not.

Look, there’s nothing wrong wanting a nice head-of-hair… just as long as you want it for yourself - not for other people, not for “hot” women, and certainly not as a crutch for whatever else is ailing you.

Just got back from dinner at a restaurant where a very bald guy, NW 7 (not shaved - he had the telltale horseshoe of brown hair)…about 40… Sitting with an extremely HOT young redhead and their children… I wondered, WTF? That guy’s a lot balder than me. I bang a chick every once in awhile, but never anything like that… Not since college, at least. Then I got up from my table and stood to my full 5’10"…and he got up…he was at least 6’5" and pretty well built.

The I said to myself, “Oh.”

It isn’t just hair, it’s a lot of things… And believe it or not, personality is part of it, too. I’m just sayin’…

Of course we’re here because we care about our looks, but that does not mean we care about our looks only because of what women think about us. Many bald men would still want hair even if they could get any woman they want without it.

Freddie, you are also overestimating the importance of hair to women. Are there women who won’t date bald men? Sure. Are there women who prefer men who aren’t bald? Of course. But then again, there are women who would only date tall men, thin men, fat men, men that look like red-necks, black men, white men, athletes, intellectuals, etc, etc. No matter who you are, or how you look like, there are women who would date you and women who won’t.

And I can think of at least one very common physical characteristic that cuts down on the number of women who would date you WAY more than being bald, and that’s being short. But if you are short, that’s okay too, you’ll probably have to stick to dating shorter women.

Shooter would u say thats true for eyebrows as well… I am just looking for honest insight as to how u think a normal persons psychology should/does work. What I am saying is I honestly don’t know wether a person who’s mental functioning is normal would also be as disconcered as I am about hairloss there or wether it’s an illusion in my own mind. Yup, kinda messed up question but I am almost 100% your right about mpb (that in reality u shouldn’t worry about it and it’s more you than anyone else caring).

In ten years time there probally will be same boring rubbish on here again - get real, get a transplant or begin to love your bald head - I know loads of bald men who have no problem charming women, just be confident,EASY!

When will there be a cure,I don’t see any real evidence anywhere, just a lot of hope and crap photos.

Most men get used to being bald or hide it very well, even 50 year olds would prefer hair, you’ll all see, when you get there.I’m not 50 yet,but I’d prefer a full head of hair, why would we be want hair, then change our minds, when we are 50.

ROLL ON HM!
