Armani\'s New Genomics Website

» I hope you guys were compensated nicely for these posts.
» I can’t see how anyone believes this is anything other than a marketing
» scheme.
» Armani is a surgeon, not a researcher. He’s got nothing. There’s
» absolutely no way he’s going to beat Aderans, Histogen, or Follica to the
» punch, and he knows it. It’s marketing plain and simple.

I agree and pointed to this some time ago.

There is something interesting though in this new site. The site itself is a joke and the terms used show that they have not even employed any scientist. (If they have then the scientists should be fired as they have no knowledge of any genetic or biochemical terminology!!!)

It does seem that Armani or a colleague has written the site and they plan to profile the genes expressed in the follicle and target some of these with antisense oligos. OK that is all jargon but I understand why a surgeon has this idea, why it is clear that this is the intention and why it is written in such an appalling way.

profiling the differences in active genes (RNA) is all the rage using micro-arrays and if a surgeon asked a scientist what to do first this would be it. If you read the site it is clear they want to do this.

Some time back in the popular media a vehicle was described that can target the appropriate genes in the follicle (either silencing bad RNA active genes or adding good RNA). It was not used since the appropriate genes were not known. This is the application of antisense technology. Armani would probably be aware of this and it would be mentioned if he asked. This intention also seems clear from the site.

He believes that he can identify the appropriate genes. This is clear form the site. Also one would think that the approval burden would be low because it would be in the form of a spray.

Will it work… NO

If it did would the approval burden be less…NO

armani is a good dr, there is no disputing but he had a live chat service with himself in 2006 which he took down because he said he didnt have the time. How can he possibly then have the time for does HT’s and HM research ??

He has call centres around the world (including manchester where ICX is) and London and surgical centres in North America and Middle East so he definately has the infrastructure. This looks like a link up with Intercytex.

ICX is already partnered with a surgeon (Farjo). There’s no reason for them to shack up with another transplant clinic. They’re looking for investors, not surgeons. I would bet my left nut that there’s no connection between ICX and Armani. Its a marketing gimmick. Hair transplant doctors are the used car salesmen of the medical world. I wouldn’t put anything past them.

Again someone is jealous from the Armani Clinic. Alvi-Armani clinic is the best and infact has the best reputation out of all clinics out there. This clinic is not few days old but years old and Dr. Armani has done and brought tremendous research and knowledge to the field of this work.

Clayshaw, well I am happy to say that I used Armani’s “gimmick” because I ended up going from a norwood 5 to having a real nice head of hair.

I do believe Dr. Armani has a passion for what he does. It came through very clear to me when I had my consultation with him. I had three other consultations. The first one was with the top HT doctor in my city. The other two were with top clinics that are well known to most of you on the forums. The doctors were nice, caring and informative, but did not speak with the same enthusiasm and passion that Dr. Armani did.

I do believe Dr. Armani wants to desperately find a cure for mpb. If he happens to be one of the people working toward doing this, I feel we should try to encourage him rather than trying to bring him down.

I just thought I’d point out that they only partnered with Farjo for their trials, the partnership probably won’t extend past that.
I’m pretty sure Farjo even confirmed it.

Also If they are looking for investors and not surgeons then why did ICX offer Bosley first dibs on partnering/TRC distrobution rights?

some people on this site are so negative. Dr Armani is not trying to sell anything. before just jugde him just wait.

» Dr Armani is not trying to sell anything.

I disagree.

The criticism becomes a valid complaint from where I’m sitting.

I do believe most if not all people who have an in person consultation with Dr. Armani come away impressed. It’s a worth while experience if you are considering him or any clinic for a procedure.

Impressed is an under-statement, even tho I had allready booked my procedure prior to my consultation & 1st meeting with Dr Armani, I will never forget the feeling of excitement I had when I walked out of the Sanderson Hotel in London.
Dr Armani restored hope in what was in my opinoin a lost cause - he did not just promise hope to me, he delivered & ever since my transplant my life & socialising has been alot better.

Call me a shill all you, wish but im on these forums posting my thoughts because I owe it to Dr Armani for how much of a positive impact he made on my life.
You dont see my writing good comments about the 1st transplant Dr I went to do you now… the reason being he butchered me!

I disagree with that statement. Dr. Armani is a reputable doctor who has told me (and others) that he is close to potentially having a product in market soon (and this was not done to persuade me to get a HT with him). A few years ago, he said hair multiplication was 10-15 years away. When I last spoke to him a month and a half ago, however, he said his team has been doing great work and they may have something by the end of this year.

What is something? Can you please specify? Do they have something like HM what gives you more hair?

I tried to find information about their trials, tests etc from internet but withoug any luck. I see only their website but this website is quite empty and there isn’t any cool information about their progress/success. I know this firm is quite young and maybe that’s why there isn’t any cool information available but if they would be succesful and if they really have something then internet should be full of information about this! I see they even have there forms for Media purpose. Anyone hasn’t interested about their progress or there isn’t any progress to make news about this?

Based on previous posts/ comments it should be out by now :expressionless:

Armani just makes claims that he doesn’t ever back up. It’s been going on for many years now. The veterans have all seen this enough times already to know not to hold our breath for proof of anything from that clinic.
