Any stocks worth investing in the HM area?

Are there any stocks with any potential worth investing in the HM arena that are listed on a North American stock exchange?

I looked up Aderans Holdings and the stock is listed in Germany, Australia and in Pink Sheets. Being a newbie investor, I don’t understand why there are so many of them…? Perhaps someone could explain.

Anyway, are there any companies in the HM arena that might have a shot at this. May as well put our support behind them.

Just like they have a walk for cancer, we need to have a walk for bald men. 100,000 bald guys running in a marathon to cure this disease. Seen from a satellite in space, it would look like someone turned on the night lights below.

Many us of thought of creating an organization that’ll collect funds and then fund research in hairloss…I think that was way back in 2008. The problem is that while there are people willing to participate…there are also many naysayers even on this board…to the point calling us delusional etc for even thinking about this. Convincing the world would be an even bigger issue altogether.

One businesswoman started the whole breastcancer phenomena…and now its become a multimillion dollar industry…with corporations having breast cancer walk days…food chains asking for donations about breast cancer…it being all over the media…butt load of government research funding and prevention programs. Men don’t even have a prostate cancer equivalent!..to convince people to donate money for baldness would be almost an impossible cause…because apparently baldmen are only good for cheap bald jokes.

I’de throw down a couple hundred bucks if it was for eyebrows too, but goata is right it seems futile…

I doubt the donation angle will work.

A better idea would be to setup a small ETF (exchange traded fund) with a list of hair loss research companies.

I’m aware there are other ETFs covering the bio sector which already exist, but this would be a subset of that.

I’m sure bald guys would be interested in investing a little money in such a fund. If indeed any one of the companies in that list discovered the cure for baldness, the payoff for shareholders would be tremendous.

I realise all this dreaming is hopeless unless someone here knows how to create such an ETF. But perhaps we could start with listing stocks directly and indirectly related to curing this scourge of baldness sweeping the land.

So back to the original question : Can anyone point me to a list of stocks which are related to curing/treating baldness?

Why eyebrows Virgo?

Are you an alopecia universalis sufferer?

Let me tell you its quite a hassel having to shave every day. Some days I almost wish I was hairless.

I don’t think you understood my post…Please read that again. The problem isn’t lack of money or unwilling people to buy stocks. The problem is lack of research…no amount of buying stock is going to do that PERIOD!

It would probably be a better idea to raise enough money to buy a small island, declare it an independent country, have no regulation for researchers and invite all the companies involved to set up there.

We could call it science island.:stuck_out_tongue:

The “Island of Dr. Moreau” seems more fitting.

I was trying to avoid that comparison.

I can just imagine what the scientists would say on the first day there, “if everything goes well, we’ll have something for the public in four to five years”

I imagine those scientists would be fed to the island’s mutated animals.
Am I close? lol

Anyway back to the original question…

Are there any HM stocks worth investing in? How would I invest in Aderans stock if I’m in North America? Anyone investing at all in this area ?

Aderans is a traded company. I don’t know if they trade in the US, or just in Japan. Its a big company, so you shouldn’t have problems to reach their stocks.

I’ve already done that. And the winner is?

If you have to ask this question to strangers on a hair loss forum, you should not be picking your own individual stocks. This is a really great way to lose your money.

Well who would you rather I trust, some con man financial advisor selling me loaded mutual funds for a commission? I’m already aware all the ‘expert’ stock pickers are clueless and underwater financially themselves.

I’d like to know what stocks/companies are involved in HM so I can research them. So again I ask, does anyone have any companies involved in HM and know their stock ticker?

Could you direct me to a ticker symbol on any North American stock exchange which trades their stock?

Thank you

I don’t know if these links will be of any help:

http://uk.finsearch.yahoo.com/uk/index.php?s=uk_sort&nm=Aderans&tp=S&r=*

I have searched for USA, but it returns 4 results for Germany:
Berlin, Stuttgart, Munich and Frankfurt exchanges.

Also these links:
http://moneycentral.msn.com/detail/stock_quote?iPage=qq&Symbol=JP:8170

The first one is for the Tokio stock market.
The second one mentions ADERANS HLDGS (FRA)
The 3rd one mentions ADERANS HLDGS( Stuttgart: AD3.SG / ISIN JP3121600005 )

In any case, if you email them, I am sure they will help you.

Thank you for taking the time.

But I’m already aware of that. They are not listed on any North American stock exchange from the looks of it. I am unable to invest in foreign stock markets.

So it seems there is not a SINGLE company with stock listed in north america engaged in curing bladness. Its sad. Really sad.

Bow your bald heads for a moment of silence.
