92% of men using propecia reported lower sexual arousal

I have talked to many hundreds of men who are taking finasteride in conjuction with a HT at our clinic.
When talking to these patients about 12 months after their HT (and usually also about 12 months after starting propecia) I have to say that about 5% of these patients have some sort of side effect. ALL the rest is doing fine with propecia, no sides.

This is my experience,

It was an easy prediction to make

you dont DARE mention YOUR pictures or lack thereof

you are deathly afraid to post any

only mine, (which you never saw)

Whats wrong is your regimen that pathetic that you have no results?
Guess I was right

» HanginInThere posted photos of two different people! LOL!

  1. How would you know? you never saw the pics.
Jacob saw them? Where are Jacobs Pics

Two cowards quivering in their boots, too afraid to post their pics of their great results…

Sir, there are countless posts from users of this drug who have developed side effects over the years.

Quote from “finfighter” at Hair Loss Talk:

"DHT is the most potent male androgen, and it is resposible for pubescenct changes initiation in males. DHT also plays a role in muscle development and sexual function, the lack of DHT in some men leeds to an increase in Estrogen, DHT is an Estrogen Antagonist in males.

Finasteride doesn’t just suppress DHT. Finasteride hinders the Isoenzyme 5 Alpha Reductase 2 (5AR2). 5AR2 is the enzyme responsible for the conversion of Testosterone into Dihydrotestosterone, by hindering 5AR2 Finasteride decreases DHT conversion, the decrease in DHT conversion sometimes leaves an excess of available free ranging Testosterone, this extra Testosterone is often converted into Estrogen when DHT is hindered, this is the reason why some men experience side effects from Finasteride which are associated with to much Estrogen such as Gynecomastia, and erectile dysfunction.

What is even more troubling than Finasteride’s suppresion of DHT is its suppression of 5AR2. 5AR2 is used for more functions than merely T to DHT conversion. 5AR2 is the enzyme which converts Progesterone and deoxycorticosterone into dihydroprogesterone and dihydro-deoxycorticosterone. Finasteride also hinders various neuro steroids such as Allopregnanolone which plays a role in the human brain, Allopregnolone is a part of the body’s natural defense against cognitive deficits. There is still a lot we have to learn about Finasterides effects on the human body and brain, Finasteride is a relatively young drug. See attached photos and literature

5AR2 is also found in the human spinal cord."

Fin suppresses 5AR1 AND 5 AR2

Saw Palmwetto does not affect 5 AR2

moron

Saw Palmetto does not stop hair loss either. It’s useless, you loser!

Post after post has stated that these two do nothing for hair loss, and don’t let the likes of HanginInthere tell you anything different. Poster after poster has shown him to be nothing but a liar and his regimen a joke.

kind of like your regimen huh?
you are very familiar with ineffective regimens apparently

Sad that even Saw palmetto was ineffective for you, so you go around crying that natural dht blockers are useless

so your last resort was curry powder, and even that hasnt worked
how bald are you now , by the way. We all know it must be getting pretty bad because you are deathly afraid to even discuss posting your pics

»
» "Men who have taken a popular pill for baldness say they’ve experienced
» persistent sexual dysfunction for months, or even years, after stopping the
» drug.
»
» The new study, published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, found that men
» who take finasteride, sold under the brand names Propecia and Proscar, may
» develop an ongoing loss of libido and orgasm, even after they go off the
» medication.
»
» In some cases, they could have other lasting sexual side effects, including
» premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction, according to lead
» researcher Dr. Michael Irwig of George Washington University’s medical
» school.
»
» “It’s obviously having some effect on the brain,” Irwig told AOL Health.
» “It’s messing up different hormonal pathways. Some of these pathways are
» important for things like libido and sexual function.”
»
» Finasteride, the most common hair-loss pill, has previously been linked to
» “reversible” sexual impairment, as noted on the drug’s label, said Irwig.
» But “this is the first series to find that symptoms persisted for at least
» three months despite stopping finasteride,” he added.
»
» “Three months was the minimum, but some of these guys had sexual symptoms
» for years, some … for five to 10 years after,” he told AOL Health. “These
» were young guys with no medical problems, no psychiatric problems, who
» happened to develop these side effects.”
»
» Irwig and his team interviewed 71 men aged 21 to 46 who had taken Propecia
» or Proscar and reported new sexual side effects after they started the
» drugs. None of the participants had a history of sexual dysfunction or
» other conditions that might have contributed, Irwig said – and some had
» only been on finasteride for a few days.
»
» Ninety-four percent said they’d experienced low sexual desire, 92 percent
» reported a dip in sexual arousal and 69 percent had trouble with orgasm,
» according to the findings. Another 92 percent said they developed erectile
» dysfunction after taking finasteride.
»
» On average, participants had been on the baldness drug for 28 months and
» had chronic sexual problems for an average of 40 months, the research
» showed.
»
» But 10 percent of those studied had used finasteride for less than a month,
» Irwig told AOL Health.
»
» “It’s scary,” he said. “For the lack of orgasm and libido, there is no
» treatment.”
»
» Other reported adverse side effects of finasteride are depression, suicidal
» thoughts and anxiety. Merck is currently fighting a number of lawsuits
» involving the drug, including one in Canada and another in Connecticut.
»
» The company does not warn of possible psychological or persistent sexual
» problems in information about finasteride on its website, nor does it
» mention those symptoms on its U.S. labeling. Irwig said the drug does carry
» warning labels in the U.K. and Sweden about ongoing sexual impairment.
»
» “Be aware that this is a potential sexual side effect,” he cautioned. “If
» somebody chooses to take this medicine, there is that risk. They have to
» make the decision that it’s a risk they’re willing to take.”

There maybe some side effects.

If you look at MPB these days its accompanied by some anxiety -so this can be another factor.

Inhibiting DHT is fine as long as you balance your other hormones too.

"Regimen is all natural DHT blockers

at present I am down to Saw Palmetto 320/day
and …Pygeum 500mcg/day"

Your regime is quite balanced.

If you add some nettle root - youll see better results.

CS - Can You Diagnose Me (iodine - no effect, beta sis - depression!)

Posted by gbp2000 on Mon Jun 27, 2011 6:53 pm

Hey all,

I’ve been on these forums for years now - and I’ve had a few small success - but overall I’m beginning to wonder if my hairloss or the reasons behind it are like most people.

I started losing hair at 18! Very very slowly. Although, I did have really bad dandruff (massive flakes) - a year or so before it started. I’m now 34, nw3/ with diffuse nw4 pattern. The center of my hairline went first, then the temples. I’ve got a double crown and that thinned at 20/21.

Naturally muscular, don’t smoke at all or drink much. I’ve been using the IH regimen for a fair few years now - and I’m not holding ground anymore.

for what its worth here are some facts:

Very low sex drive
Greasy skin
Average body hair
Zinc and bananas have a huge effect on my mood as does macca
Vellus hair still there - right up to my teenage hairline (I can get it to grow longer with topical aloe + garlic - but it rarely turns terminal)
Topical Colloidal silver also grows hair - but far too slowly to be useful.
Used to have bad hair pain - now that hair is gone, I don’t have the pain.
Took beta siterol - as suggested by you - hair got thicker - sex drive dropped even lower, dropped after six months.

what is your regimen, my tiny Polish drag queen?!

DHT need not even be considered. Its inhibition is an outdated approach to fighting hair loss.

» DHT need not even be considered. Its inhibition is an outdated approach to

Dehydrotestosterone (DHT): It is a male hormone that many scientists suggest to be the main cause for male pattern baldness. DHT is formed when the male hormone testosterone interacts with the enzyme 5-alpha reductase.

DHT needs to be considered. Its inhibition is a modern day approach to
fighting hair loss

Its inhibition will make you a girl: gynecomastia.
