I got my procedure in Amsterdam 05/15/12. Just 50 days ago.
Sorry for my poor english, but i will try to show you what i think about the procedure and some questions i have done to the clinic.
My procedure was done by Freek Broekhuijse, the 2nd Dr than Gho.
Dr Gho was in Maastrich, they have 2 or 3 procedures per day in all clinics and obviously is impossible for Gho to stay in all the clinics.
They are booked until end of the year at least
The doctor told me that they will open a clinic in Jakarta - Indonesia and he told me that will be this year.
He told me that in the last time there were a lot of VIP, Famous people from Hollywood and a lot of sport man who got the procedure. He didnt want to tell me who, obviously…
I ask him why there are a lot of people still not conviced about this new procedure, and he told me that in Europe most of the people are convincing, that only in USA the people and drs do not want to accept or are suspicious about HST.
He told me that you can do multiples procedures, consecutives, but you must to wait at least 9 month for the full recovery of the donor area and the hairs in the donor…
This is another point, if HST doesnt works, why they will wait 9 months for make more money and extracted more grafts…they easily can tell them to do more procedures each 2 or 3 months, but NO, they advice to wait 9 months… this is a good point.
I asked him about the density, and he told me that they have done 100 or more grafts per cm2 but they don´t want to show this in the webpage because all the people will want this density and is not for all the cases…( in the webpage they say that can do 30/50 grafts x cm2)
He told me that in Indonesia they are teaching drs for opening the new clinic but the main problem is that they need at least 1 year for educate the drs, it is not so easy.
Well, now the pictures…
I think that i had got some regrowth in the donor area…i am not sure about the 80% of regrowth but it is really difficult because the donor healing and regrowth takes 3 or 4 months for all hairs…some growth days after the procedure and some growths in the following months.
I the instruccions they said that you can feel itching in the donor area some days after the procedure, that it is normally because the hairs are regrowing in the donor…
And it is truth that i feel a lot of itching after the 2 or 3 day of the procedure.
That’s a pretty interesting area he used for the donor. High up on the back of your head. Is that because you are a DUPA case that won’t have MPB in the future, or is that common for his cases?
In 25-30 years, I will not have hair in the upper third of the area he used as donor.
The donor is looking great damielmillo. Absolutely no visible scarring. Nobody can argue anymore that Gho isn’t doing something different than the other hair transplant surgeons. Nobody else produces such scarless hair transplant procedures, and this is practically conclusive at this point. Amazing to look at your pictures 2 weeks after your procedure and see no visible signs in the donor that you ever had a procedure.
As for donor regrowth, the hair is a bit long in some of the after pictures which will make it almost impossible to count individual hairs like Iron_Man did for gc83uk.
If you’re comfortable with it, I’d love to see before and after pictures in the recipient area at some point.
I see that you got 1604 grafts. How did you settle on this amount? Did you ask HASCI for more grafts?
I know on the website they say the maximum they do in a day is 2500 grafts but I rarely hear of patients who get 2000+ grafts. Actually, your amount of grafts is a relatively large amount compared to the other HASCI patients who have shared their results online.
Anybody have an idea if they do multiple-day sessions? Or how comfortable HASCI is in single or multiple day sessions to approach that 2.5k graft figure?

It took a lot of time for the extraction and then put the grafs in the receipt zone…
the procedure started at 7 am and finished 5 or 6 PM…
i think is really difficult to have more than 1800 grafts in 1 day and also it depends of the donor area…
I didnt settle the amount…they settle the amount depending your donor caracteristics.
» Hey daniel a couple of questions:
»
» what was your norwood pattern?
» and what do you think will be your final norwood pattern?
»
» Do you plan to have more procedures?
I think i am a NW4-5 thinning in all this area.
I think they extracted some grafts really high and i dont like it because in the future i can have a more agressive hair loss in this zone…
I think i will have a next procedure next year. I will need it for sure.
They have dates now by Febrary or march…really full bookings…
Thank you danielmillo. The only sad part in your story was the fact that it seems that hasci has too much workload around them. I mean they obviously cannot handle the demand.
I really begin to ask myself why in the european union the clinics are try to bring Gho don, rather then get along with him to get a piece of the exponentially growing pie.
I always knew that they could do more then 50 Grafts at max, and this makes me happy. I think its time that Dr Cole will get together with Gho
Thanks so much for documenting your case, it really helps us out who are on the fence. Would you happen to have any before recipient photos and placement photos? While donor site is important, what really matters in the end is the recipient, thats why we want the hair transplant, to look good on top! Any photos of the recipient would be much appreciated. Also are you happy with how the Doctor did your hairline and placement?

I’m not surprised - in your case (I just checked this out), he simply needed a bigger area even just for 1600 HST grafts; this has something to with the configuration of your FU’s (too many are in a really “strange” configuration) for the HST extraction technique. Simply check out all those grafts he didn’t extract! In other words, you’re not such an “easy case” as e.g. gc83uk. But don’t worry concerning “really high”. I will explain this a little later …
At a glance - minimum 80% regrowth up to day 15, clearly visible.
Thanks for the photos!
Thanks for sharing your experience, damielmillo.
What was the recovery time like ? Were you able to go out the next day ?
My op is next month in amsterdam, and i don’t wanna fly backhome with noticible signs of the procedure, so how many days should i stay in amsterdam before flying home ? Also did you have to stay at your hotel for a while, or you were able to go out and enjoy your time without looking so weird ?
And where did you stay in amsterdam ? Any place you recommend ?
thanks again, and i will get back to you with more questions
I was in the closest hotel( in the same street) that they booked for me for FREE for the first before night, then i booked another 2 nights more BECAUSE by the instructions they gave me, we must to wait 3 or 4 days for washing the grafts and for wearing a cap and i can not go out to the street without a cap the first days…it is noticiable.
Anyway, the recovery was really suprising and quickly, the donor in 5 or 6 days is not noticiable for the human eye, all the crusts dissapear at the 8 or 9 day. You can feel at the 4 or 5 day after in the donor some itching but it is for the donor regrowth.
Another great point is that 70-80% of the grafts in the receipt never fall down.
Iron Man, what do you think about my case? Why do you say that is a strange case? can you explain me please? I can see some regrowth in the donor.
Thank you

Well, obviously i wanted to focus in the donor area…i think is the most important for Gho procedures.
I used to have long hair so it is really dificult to compare the before and after photos, but anyway i have some receipt pictures that i will post.
I am happy with the fast growth of the receipt zone, at the same rate than the others native hairs…i think i only lost 20 or 30 % of the implanted grafts that will grow up in the next months.
Man, is a transplant, they put me 1604 grafts and thats all. The most important point is the scarless donor and the regrowth for future consecutives treatments.

I think that in this picture we can see some hairs growing through the red spots. what do you think guys?
I also noticed on my 2nd treatment that I didn’t lose any grafts at all. This is definitely a bonus that the same has happened with you. Did you apply the minox spray? I stopped using it after 2 or 3 weeks and nothing fell out.

Thanks man, and im glad that you are satisfied with your op. so basically after 3 to 4 days it’s safe to wear a cap and go site seeing and enjoy your time in the city, righ ?
And when did you feel it was safe to go out without wearing a cap and not being noticable ? Was it after 8 to 9 days ?
Thanks again anc i will be sharing my experience as well.

You hear that a lot with Gho patients as gc83uk just mentioned himself. That’s what I really like about HST. You can get the procedure and not worry about looking like a freak for months. Someone like Wesley Sneijder, who has cameras following him everywhere got the procedure and hardly anybody noticed any signs at all.
