Ya know I requested quotes and graft count requirement for my case from several clinincs but only received information from Dr. Bisanga’s clinic.
I really wish I can get some more options.

I believe that the question of this thread should be “Who is a good hair transplant patient?”.

There are three considerations to make when having a hair transplant.

  1. The possibility of not having enough donor hair to completely restore the recessions if hair loss progresses.
  2. The financial commitment in consideration of progressive hair loss.
  3. The fact of having to place your trust into the hands of a physician.
  4. Being aware of the advantages and disadvantages of the procedure based on the goal in hair restoration.

Lastly, these individuals need to seriously evaluate the skill and the competence of the surgeon before moving forward.

I still can’t decide whether to have fue or strip. Do you know anyone who had fue first and then later on went for a strip the 2nd time?

HMorHT,

There are very few cases where a patient will have FUE then proceed with strip. When a patient has a strip performed, the overall surface area of the donor area is decreased. The advantage to strip method is that you will receive more individual hairs in a session. With strip, grafts are often times fractionated during the procedure. This means that you may end up paying the FUE price per graft in the end. A disadvantage with strip is the inability to wear a short hair style.

Fue maximizes the entire donor area for harvesting, allows you to wear a short hair style, but initially costs more per graft. Also remember that CIT, our form of FUE, is a harvesting technology whereby follicular groups can be “cherry-picked” by the physician. The harvested grafts are extracted based upon the demand of the recipient area and placed intact.

In essences, it would not be better to do strip after FUE, depending on your goals.

» I still can’t decide whether to have fue or strip. Do you know anyone who
» had fue first and then later on went for a strip the 2nd time?

It’s usually the other way around. Why do you want to have fue first followed by strip? It doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Just have FUE first and second and so on - who the hell really wants a bloody strip scar - think about it!

How many FUE repair cases do you see?

How many strip repair cases do you see?

If the hair transplant clinic tells you you are not suitable for FUE - then say NO!

This is just my opinion.

If someone can fill me in on what I’ve missed or give me a link to a bad patient result I would be very greatful. Thanks.

Let me tell you why. I don’t want a long scar in my head but I have to say from the pictures that I have seen in the forum, strip has superior results bar none. That’s why I want to know if i try FUE and if I am not happy with the outcome, can I do strip the second time? Are there any drawbacks for doing that?

Hi,

This really depends on you. Will you compromise your goals in the process? Can you live with the scar or will you want to have it filled-in later?

Get a strip. If the scar really bothers you, then put some fue to disguise the scar. It gives you the best result possible and saves you money.

What kind of advice is this ?
The guy already expressed he does not favor a strip scar.
Please do not count on FUE in the strip scar to hide it. Sometimes it can soften the strip scar indeed, but sometimes there is no blood supply in the scar and nothing grows. Betting on FUE in the scar is risky at best.
FUE gives equal results, graft for graft, provided both are performed by true experts.
Why does it save money ? Look around and you will find FUE rates at par with strip pricing.

You must be new, this is a pro FUE site so anyone who doesn’t do fue is being dismissed, that’s why everybody is talking him down.

I’ve not seen much Feller FUE for the amount he talks about it; it’s not bad but nothing that stands out, wouldn’t say he is up there. Has to be Cole, Bisanga, Woods (no real order) maybe Wolf and Mwamba also;

How come everyone is not shouting for Alvi Armani?

If you go back this time last year he was your man on this site - Whats happened.

Is it because you have all woke up and find his work to extreme, especiallly as it looks like there will be no HM in near future to back up all the heavy loaded frontal hair transplants done by him.

Opinions welcome.

Everybody is a good FUE candidate.Especially difficult cases who can progress further ,because they can wear their hair shorter without fear.A lot of factors has to be considered by the doctors(tools, patient’s expectations, finances, etc…).We got more strip results than FUE/FIT just because strip is older. It has been around many years before FUE.We should maybe compare the percentage in the same period of time. And secundo 90% of doctors performed strip,of course you will see more strip results outthere. You need to compare ,according to the numbers of strip performed ,how many good results compare to the numbers of FUE performed, how many good results? And as someone said early, how many repair did you hear from FUE?
I had a patient who went for FUE first and then decided the second time to do strip.(He was a physician). Why?First time ,I encouraged him to do FUE but I explained that strip is as good and if he decided to keep his hairs longer, then no problem. He had hair loss focalised in the crown (2 Vertex).
For financial reason,he choosed strip the second time because he told me he will never cut his hairs short.Let the patient choose but make sure you offered him all the options ;and if you are not able able refer him to another doctor who can handle the case.

IF I remember Dr Cole as a top doc said that DR Mwamba is the only one that he will recommend in Europe for FUE/FIT. I believe that we can trust his opinion as an expert.

Dr. Mwamba I asked HDC many times what percentage of their patients chose FUE and they never gave me a straight answer. What about your clinic? Can you tell me roughly what percentage of your patients chose FUE instead of strip?
