I am 27 years of age suffering from hair loss class 5a. Recently i heard about DHI and i wish to undergo hair transplant very soon.
Has anybody done HT with DHI?? what are the results? they claim that they will give gurantee in written… Isn’t DHI similar to FUE? why there are only few posts regarding DHI?
I am from india and i am afraid of FUT procedure and from internet and forums i came to know that there are no good surgeons in india to perform FUE. What about DHI?? Indian cricketer virender sehwag gone through that procedure… any idea guys about DHI…
Please Reply i want to get rid of this curse
Thanks in advance:confused:

Yes it makes it the most advanced hair restoration technique available today because you say so.
I’m always leery of clinics and doctors who are constantly in search of a quicker and more profitable ways of doing business. Regardless of if it’s the fancy new drill or the robotic implanting machine. Often times these are the same clinics that are also concerned with expanding their operations all across the world. Hmmmm, I wonder why that happens to be.
This item should be marketed to other doctors in search of more profit and not to patients that are concerned with results. I would consider the forums a place for marketing to patients if there is to be any marketing going on so I don’t quite understand why this machine would be hyped.
Patients are looking for aesthetically pleasing results and to be treated by ethical doctors. So if you have a machine that improves the ethics of a doctor or makes them a better artist, I’m all ears.
» “no scalp incision”??? what do you mean by that? how do you place the
» graft in the recipient if you don’t do a scalp incision? care to explain?
With the DHI implanter we are able to accurately place the follicles at the exact angle and direction required to follow the growth angle and direction of the existing hair. This allows us to create thoroughly natural results.
At no time during the procedure is the follicle actually touched by the medical instruments used by the nurses and doctors, this ensures that no damage is caused to the follicle due to over manipulation and human interference.
Placement of the follicle into the recipient site is a gentle process, whereby the doctor merely releases the follicle into an opening the size of a needle. The follicle is not pushed or pulled at any time.
So, The Direct placement without reception holes is possible with the unique DHI implanter
That doesn’t explain “no incision”, there is a needle at the tip of the implanter, I suspect the needle creates an incision in the scalp so that the doctor can place the graft into the skin, there is clearly incision involved in my opinion, feel free to prove me wrong.

IN DHI we use very small diameter punches (0.7-0.85 mm)that lead to faster healing, less marks and increased graft survival.
Also:
Diminished desiccation of the grafts (minimal time out of the skin).
Direct implantation of grafts results in less trauma of the skin, less damage to the local blood supply and no scarring.
Minimal risk of infection as the hair follicles are transferred immediately from the donor area to the recipient area.
Less anesthesia, less medication needed.
Less invasive.
Less traumatic.
Significantly reduced bleeding.
Less scarring after the procedure.
No microscope needed, so that the exposure of the hair follicles in intense light & heat is avoided.
No handling of the grafts is required, thus increasing the survival of the hair follicles.
Less tiring for the patient (seated position)
Early hair growth as most transferred hair follicles enter the anagen phase immediately.
Return to work same day? Can you post some pics right after surgery?

All it takes is a google search on dhi,the reviews are awful on every forum!nuff said
I don’t know much about DHI, but if DHI doctors really use such an “extraction & implanter combination tool” (all-in-one tool, so to speak) as described by you – the basic idea behind (immediate transplantation of FU’s from A to B without storage, trimming of grafts and delay) is great and has indeed lots of advantages in comparison to other traditional FUE techniques.
Actually, there is only 1 “disadvantage” involved as far as I can tell:
The doctor who performs such a procedure is simply UNABLE to see 1) what exactly he extracted and 2) what he finally implants a few seconds later, because the (hollow) needle itself is not “transparent” or something as -for the graphic representation purpose- shown on the pic above.
On the other hand, if a very skilled and experienced physician extracts the grafts with such a tool and he mostly has a transection rate anywhere below 5% - even this point can be neglected.
A small but “statistically significant” study would be appreciated, of course especially about the yield (“take-rate” ) with this kind of hair transplantation technique (immediate transplantation of FU’s from A to B without any storage/delay) …
btw - maybe I’m completely wrong, but is this “implanter” actually really an “extraction & implanter combination tool” (all-in-one tool) so to speak?

DHI,
Can you clarify? Does the DHI implantation device actually do both extraction and implantation and does it use the same 8mm punch for both or is there something like a syringe that does the implantation without making a cut?
I just spoke with Dr. Cole about the Implanter. He explained implanter devices have been around for years and he has never seen good yields when this type of device is used. The patients he has seen who have had surgery utilizing implanter devices have orange peeled looking scalp with a poor yield because these devices tend to “bury” grafts too deep. Attempts at repair have been disappointing. A few doctors are reporting better yields with some of the newer implanters, but Dr. Cole feels that there is really no reason to use one.

Can you explain to me what Dr. Cole’s method is for FUE?
What device is used to make the holes in the recipient site and how are grafts planted?

Dr. Cole uses his own version of minimal depth FUE. After examining the donor area, Dr. Cole begins with a manual punch in order to determine minimum size diameter and depth. Once this has been determined, Dr Cole uses what we call our PCID or Programmable Cole Isolation Device. Basically it is a hand piece that can be programmed by a touch screen computer to rotate and oscillate when necessary. Oscillation relieves torsion stress on the grafts. The PCID basically “scores” the grafts to where they can be eased or teased out.
