Patient Nickname - FR
Hairloss status - Would have been a Norwood 6 had he not got any HT surgery.
Past history
FR had undergone hair transplants, years ago, in US and then in Thailand.
In both the procedures, unfortunately, outdated techniques were used.
Plug grafts were transplanted at unnatural angles.
In July 2006, FR underwent a repair HT with us.
The repair HT involved a strip FUHT (3925 grafts) and BHT (1196 grafts).
He is happy with the progress thus far and has returned for more transplants.
Dear forum readers,
This patient’s case was discussed after his first visit in 2006.
You may view the pre op and intra op pictures of this patient, as well as the relevant details at the following link.
We have all asked a certain doc on this site various questions on many occasions & he has always ignored us.
I have to hand it you Dr A, you always listen & respond. We said we wanted bigger pictures from different angles & your clinic started taking pictures the way we wanted.
I asked for video footage instead of photos, footage of the hair being combed & others asked for camera footage from above & you provided them.
All this guy needs is work on his crown & he his back to normal. I really respect your decision not to hide the bald crown in that video footage like some of the other docs do to create the illusion that their patient has a full head of hair.
All I ask is that the next time you make videos please include a close up of the hairline as well.
Good work Dr A.

» Is it correct that he had 3 strip scars in his previous 2 transplants?
» What is his donor like now? Can you show that too.
I will try and upload a video of the body donor area as it looks in July 2007.
You may notice a few spots in the body donor area on the chest. These are induced by ingrown hair and the simple way to treat them is to pull the hair out gently, using a clean tweezer.
Thereafter, apply Betnovate C cream or any other similar preperation to the spot.
Dear forum readers,
Following is the link to the video of the body donor areas as they appear in July 2007. The chest and abdomen hair were harvested in July 2006.

Looks ok but i thought that 5000 grafts would cover more area, anyway he needs more grafts.

JonnyE,
FR wanted to go for a uniformly high density in the areas that are transplanted into. If you see the video of the brush combing through the hair, the density is deliciously high throughout.
The same number of grafts can be transplanted over a larger area for sake of thinner coverage but I believe Dr. A and FR chose the dense packing route after due deliberation.
