Update Nizoral

Been using the cream instead of the shampoo for 2 wks now, at night after shower, or actually after wetting the scalp, about 10 mins later

asked the wife the other night…do I have little pimples up there or what, around the edges of the crown, feels like little bumps. I know I did not feel that 2 weeks ago when applying the cream. so its strange. Could it be?..naaaah

no she says, its little small hairs very very small
Oh well at least there is hope, I can see a very very VERY thin layer of fuzz on the crown now whereas before there was absolutely nothing in that spot

It might be just my imagination and wishful thinking, took before pics and will keep you updated

We all have to have hope dont we
If I got ANYTHING to grow on that spot, considering there has been no hair there for 10 yrs and it started thinning more then 20 yrs ago, I would consider that a great acoomplishment.

Yes Hangin is,gosh…using a topical

Hope it really is working. Can you give specifics of the nizoral cream you are using? Also, how long you are leaving it on, etc. Thanks.

i use the 2 percent nizoral cream which cost me cheap here in manila no prescription needed, 6 dollars for 10 grams i think thats how much that is , not sure how many ounces that is but lasts at least two weeks

best applied , my assumption is , after reading the japanese study, after show er or wet scalp , approx 10 mins, absorbs better supposedly
I leave it on all night

now the shampoo has hydrochloric acid in it, and also that embalming fluid stuff which the cream has neither
when i was using the shampoo i left it on 5 mins but I looked at my scalp afer that shampoo for a week and there was NO HAIR NONE Like i had shaved my crown, that stuff scoured my hair off real well, so that made me nervous

Now that other guy on the board gc1961 is using it but not the nizoral cream, he is using a keto homemade topical

i have never seen before and after pics like gc on an old bald area, perhaps this is common with rogaine or prop, but I dont think so
to grow that much hair on an OLD bald area that is totally devoid of hair for more than 10 yrs, to me that is amazing , I thought the hair follicles died but apparently they live on, in many cases

we shall see how mine do
even if i dont get any crown regrowth, from my experience with the dht blockers, the hair on my top front should thicken amazingly, I hope, and that would really halp things out a lot

My top front still looks damn good, but I am sure I have lost about half of that hair, which still even if you lose half of your hair in an area it can still look pretty darn good, but I knwo a lot of that hair is missing now, so the thinning areas usually respond 10 Times better than bald areas, so that area should have some nice regrowth if nowhere else responds

will keep fingers crossed

im easy to please If I got just a fuzz regrowth about 20 percent of my crown I would be thrilled

Best of luck!! Make sure you give it a try over a lengthy period. Most people give up too early.

Some of the herbals you are actaully taking will have an anti-aromatase effect - so without knowing it your are also addressing ESTRADIOL aswell as DHT.

Ill update you on something that may have potential on scalp regrowth in the crown area, shortly.

For now carry on with the feedback.

Pete

the nizoral cream certainly seems to have the potential for crown regrowth in some guys, to a large degree, according to the pics of that japanese study and the pics gc1961 posted of his own regrowth
i have had no hair on my spot on my crown for so long im easy to please if i got any regrowth i would be happy

haha…looks like we’re getting away from the all natural theme on this forum. Whatever, hair is hair.

I went to Walgreens today and asked them if they carried the 2% nizoral cream. They said it was by prescription only. hmmm.

I went on ebay and found 2 20 gram tubes for $18.33 w/4.90 s&h. Most of them selling the stuff are from Thailand since it’s a product of Thailand. That sucks because I was there for a year and a half. I might have gotten it much cheaper. Oh well.

Anyone else interested in trying this?

To be clear, I was on a boat-load of stuff when I shocked my hair into regrowth; I do believe that Nizoral is a key component however. Anyone that has researched hair cell receptors and the multitude of hormones would see the clear connection.

I also believe that Estrogen is very bad and I rotate the use of a generic version of Arimidex in my protocol. I do not use it continuously.

For Nizoral I used the 2% shampoo initially, but now I use my own dermonvan-based cream. I buy generic Keto tabs and dissolve these before combining with the cream. It seems to work pretty well.

Topically the key is to DOWN regulate the IMMUNAL response.

Nizoral is a product of Johnson and Johnson, they have a patent on it
there is a branch in the Philippines of Johnson and Johnson and I think that is the supplier to the local pharmacies

Did you all the sudden start on a bunch of things at the exact same time as the before pics in your pics series

I am on a lot of things in my regimen also but I did not add them at the same time i added them at maybe 6 month intervals

I have a feeling that you added the nizoral to your regimen and soon thereafter, having changed nothing else, saw very good results, and concluded, correctly that it was the Nizoral that made the difference

To the people using nizoral, below is a study i have found of a new product called KetoMousse in Italy, that uses the minxodil versafoam delivery vehicle. The study below shows how its more effective than scalp lotions for dandruff. So by assuming its also a better product for MPB. Also it is not a shampoo so it doesn’t dry your hair out and also its non greasy like minox foam and hence can be applied at any time. i am trialling it at the moment. Their is a link below to the only place i have found u can buy it from in Italy that is in english.

Keto Mouse study:

Correspondence: Dr Massimo Milani MD, Via A. Nota 18, Milan, Italy. E-mail: masmilan@hotmail.com
Keywords: dandruff, shampoo
Summary

Background Ketoconazole (K), zinc pyrithione (ZP), and salicylic acid (SA) are compounds active in the treatment of dandruff. A thermophobic foam formulation containing K 1%, ZP 0.5%, and SA 2% is now available.

Study aim To compare the efficacy of thermo phobic foam with K 2% scalp fluid in the treatment of moderate to severe dandruff.

Patients and methods In a randomized, prospective, parallel-group, investigator-blinded, 4-week treatment trial, a total of 54 patients (mean age 43 ± 8 years) were enrolled. Foam (F group) (n = 37) or K 2% scalp fluid (SF group) (n = 17) was applied daily for 7 days and twice weekly for 3 weeks thereafter. Clinical assessment of the total dandruff severity score (TDSS) was performed at baseline, after 2 and 4 weeks. The TDSS was calculated using a four-grade quantitative score (0 = no dandruff; 3 = severe dandruff) dividing the scalp area into four zones and adding the single score for each area.

Results At baseline, TDSS was 7.1 ± 2 and 5.1 ± 1 in the F and SF groups, respectively. At the end of treatment period, beneficial effects were observed in both groups. The TDSS was reduced to 2.5 ± 1 in the F group and to 3.7 ± 1.2 in the SF group (mean difference in favor of F group: ?1.2; 95% CI: –0.57 to ?1.8) (P = 0.0003). A complete or nearly complete resolution of dandruff was observed in 24 out of 37 (64%: 95%CI: 48–77%) in the F group and in 7 out of 17 (41%: 95% CI: 21–64%) in the SF group (P = 0.06 between groups).

Conclusions This new antidandruff thermophobic foam has shown to be more effective than ketoconazole 2% scalp fluid in the treatment of severe dandruff.

have recently read some scary things about the minox foam, heart palpitations , etc

would not want to try anything minox related

Keto Mouse has nothing to do with minoxdil apart from the foam delivery vehicle. Minox with or without the foam has shown heart palpitations in some people. So it is the minoxidil itself not the delivery vehicle.

In the EXtina trials and safety profile heart palipations or any serious side effects were not noted. Extina is similar to keto Mouse except it only contains ketoconazole. keto Mouse contains saliacilic acid and zincpt. Extina received fda approval for psoriasis just last month and is not on the market just yet.
