You still risk 30% infection rate that is way too high in my opinnion.

yes. I wonder how it is possible that they haven’t found any material totally infection-free. It doesn’t sound so difficult to me. They can do it with bones, breasts, pacemakers, etc. why not hairs? I think the hair industry is still in the stone-age in many respects.

I wonder about getting the stuff adequately into the skin. Real hairs are something like 4mm down into the dermis in order to be firmly anchored.

Our hair has a pretty short “service life.” We don’t have hair that is damage proof, UV resistant, always smooth in the face of styling efforts, safely incapable of pulling out, etc. Our natural hair doesn’t solve any of these problems, it just continually replaces itself.

A man-made product that doesn’t grow would be a different animal. You could periodically get the stuff replaced/boosted with new hairs but it’s still gonna be an issue.

Everything has issues. They simply have to be solved. Look at all the technology that surrounds us today. I am sure plenty of issues had to be solved to reach the current state of the art.

Hair industry is simply underdeveloped. Probably because it has been plagued with taboos for decades.

» synthetic where did u get that done? cost?
Hi had mine done in london costs are about £1.80 per hair

You have to be sensible when having these fibres keep to a reasonable ammount and all is fine

hair fibres are not perfect and i would recommend hair transplant over the fibres if you have good donour , in my case i do not so the fibres have been great for me for over 16 years and look totally natural

thanks man! can you post some pics of your hair fibers? what are some of the disadvantages of hair fibers from your experience? if they have lasted you over 16 years and look totally natural, and at about 1.80BP per hair, I say that’s a pretty good investment. how many had you done?

then you made this implantation of synthetic hair the 16 years? e did not have rejection? was necessary to place more wires during the years? it hears some allergy? infection? THANKS…

I agree 1.8GBP is not expensive at all, considering this is a ‘rare’ treatment.

Bones and pacemakers are inside the body and therefore not visible. Fake breasts look exactly that – fake. If synthetic hair looks as obviously fake as fake boobs do, I wouldn’t do it, especially if there is a risk of infection.

I think you’re right in the sense that the hair industry is underdeveloped, but I disagree on your reasoning. The motivation is certainly there. There are enormous amounts of money to be made. The fact that all they’ve come up with is dangerous drugs and transplants with severe limitations is not an indication of taboos to me, but of the difficulty of the challenge the hair industry faces. Regrowing hair is clearly difficult.
As far as the fake boobs things goes, to me we already have that- toupees. We’re trying to get a solution that would be more analogous to giving a woman with A cups natural D cups without adding plastic, but instead adding cells or growth factors or hormones or something. That has not been done either.

well, if you are trying to mimic exactly the appearance of a natural hair, then it will be an added difficulty for the engineer. But why don’t forget about it? Whats the problem if it looks artificial? Its not a problem, as long as it looks cool!!

Why not removing all the natural hairs, and plant all-artificial hair? Once you remove the old hair, you don’t need to mimic it. You are free to make a whole new design.

What’s the problem if it looks artificial? Really? If thats not a problem, its it much easier just to get a toupee.

A toupee/wig is a good solution. The problem is that society is totally stupid about it, and when people notice it, they laugh at you. It is funny, you can’t laugh at a black man, but you can laugh at a bald man with a wig. why?

still, a wig is not part of you, so I think it is better an integrated solution. I think you will feel more ‘secure’.

tupees are not like fake boobs. Tupees/wigs are not integraterd in your body. Silicon implants are. I think the equivalent to Silicon implants would be artificial fiber- hair.

regarding the motivation of the hair industry, I don’t know, dude, I don’t even see an industry. I only see drugs invented by chance (prop and minox) and the individual efforts of HT surgeons. Now, it seems that we are starting to see something that looks like an industry, with big companies researching into HM, but with little success.
