Treatment of alopecia by micropore delivery of stem cells

Apparently a laser treatment followed by injections of stems cells. Dont know if clinical trials would be needed for this sort of treatment?

The applicants are a laser company,RELIANT TECHNOLOGIES, and an MD at Stanford, Basil Hantash.

Interesting quote, line [0095]:
“This allows the hair to begin to grow and cycle similar to a normal hair

Good find!!!

The laser is that of Reliant Technologies and Rox Anderson (Follica Inc.) is the inventor of it. This laser could be used for treatment of Follica Inc. Too Cotsarelis talk about a “laser”…

Maybe the pre-stimulation that was used in the icx trials was used with a laser as well? Just speculating, but it would be interesting to know how they did stimulate the skin for better hair growth.

This is really surprising to me. But it’s a great find! Reliant technologies is a big, established company. They are best-known for the “fraxel laser”, which has revolutionized the “rejuvenation” market. Basically you have 3-5 sessions with the fraxel laser and acne scars, wrinkles, etc are gradually removed and/or minimized. So the fact that Reliant is working on curing baldness is a big, important step for us.

If you read the Follica web site, you will notice many of the researchers there were at Merk, and large cosmetics companies, as well as Stenn and Costarialis. They aren’t an operation with one “genius” like Gho was with a number of “helpers”, but a team of people with impressive credentials to be researching this.

This doesn’t mean they will have a workable product before ICX/Aderans or even ever, but it does show you that they really believe they can make it go.
