I am going to wait till the end of the year, there might be another update from intercytex and we will probably know more about Acell by then.

there are alot of guys on the board who know very little about transplants and dive into it and get scalped basically by the wrong doc or the wrong procedure

I don’t know if I’m “the guy” you’re speaking of, but I’ve had 3 transplants with pretty good results. Also, I was not asking anyone’s opinion on the forum of whether I should get a transplant, I was asking if they would consider getting one now or waiting for HM. I really think that you need to read a little closer.

No question I’d take Acell with HT right away. If it works, we’ll be lucky because there’s really nothing else out there that can promise us the same thing soon.
Follica still could be years away for all we know. Besides nothing says we can’t take advantage of any future technology that can cure hairloss even if we use Acell.
I hope Acell lives up to the potential we think it might have.

Completely agree with your comments on risk-taking Debris. I’ve had a business which had moderate success and my present venture requires risk on a regular basis (but is also highly rewarding).
I wouldn’t have it any other way-some people are risk-averse and want a menial sheltered life-to each his/her own, I prefer to live it fully. My only regret is that I wasn’t as daring in my dating life as I have been with my means of generating income-but I’m working on that too. Getting the hair I lost will certainly help boost my confidence.

I’ve been fighting for 27 years. I was one of the guys in UK that was trialing minoxidil (and actually paying money for it) in 1986 and was told that it was the cure. I believed it until the tiny vellus hairs I got from it within 2 weeks never really advanced from there.
I was excited about a cure back then.
I haven’t been that excited since.
Until now.
Of course it could be a similar false alarm.
Could be no progress.
But in my 27 year fight, the last time I had hope was 22 years ago.
I now have hope again.
Wait a while.
Let’s see what happens.
Regrowth minimal and not cosmetically viable at the moment. But there are new follicles there albeit most of them small, faint and not very dark. However, there are isolated occurrences of large black dots signifying developed follicles. I’m on Day 20 post wounding and I intend to do my next wounding experiment using tannic acid (low concentration; it’s dangerous stuff) and curcumin (very safe) as the topical EGF inhibitor along with caffeine, dmso, lithium orotate (wnt upregulator) and emu oil.
Nothing really to show on photos at the moment guys but I’m sufficiently excited about this procedure to try different protocols.
I’m one of a few people who are conducting this self experimentation.
People who are tired of waiting for commercial availability of a solution to our very underestimated problem.
I am probably alone however, in the fact that I am NW7 and I am conducting the home follica experiment OVER THE ENTIRE TOP OF THE SCALP. There is no hair to get in the way as I shave my head.
I’m not looking for thick density. I’m looking for a light density covering of terminal hair that I can crop down to 10mm to take the edge off my vast expanse of bald scalp.
I’m certain that this thing works in principle.
I’m not prepared to wait any longer for red tape or nefarious ‘under the table’ deals that may or may not prevent commercialising technology that will end our ordeal.
20 days ago I sanded my entire scalp. Heavily. Then I applied a 30% acid peel onto the raw skin. The pain was incredible. That is the degree of my commitment. Today, I’m seeing results from that, albeit minimal. Being entirely bald, the results are obvious, to me at least.
I’m prepared to experiment further with this.
All I can say to guys out there who aren’t trying this is to be cautiously optimistic. There’s nothing to show on pictures yet but be assured, should results warrant it, I will procure a digital camera and take pictures. Hopefully, some of those faint follicles will get darker and larger.
A word to the wise. From a man who has been there.
DO NOT GO FOR A HAIR SYSTEM.
These glue-on WIGS will make it more difficult for follicle revival as well as looking like crap after about a week.

by sanding your scalp, and as you say, the pain was incredible…you are risking disfigurement and treading into an area u know nothing about. are you a physician? what if you scar your head and you cannot undo the damage
