They are a resorbable plastic that have a plate with small barbs as shown in a picture in the link. They can be placed under the skin to close a wound and stop strechback while healing takes place.

Ok Marco I looked at the thread… Now help me understand how we can implement this in the occipital region during a strip? I mean it is used in the cheeks around the cheeks in the mouth? Does it have to have boney points of insertion to hold it down???

The design and implementation are in the pic. It’s a two headed barbed device with a neck between. Insert under the skin vertically at the strip wound. Press on “1” to anchor. close the wound manually “3” and press on “2”. Add a few stitches. This will hold it in position for about six months without tension. O.K, the patents gone now that it’s posted
I am going to show Dr. Harris. Kind of neat.
