This site is very different than others

I have noticed that this site is very free. The moderator does not get involved in threads or telling to people what to say or not, well sometimes if he does not like something he erases it and thats it. But he never threatens to ban people or locking threads or whatever treating us like kids.

I think he should be congratulated for that, as some things maybe we take for granted, there is a lot of hypocricy in the hair forums and censorship, here is 2 the minimum from what i have seen.

Well done David on keeping it real.

Though any word for me regarding the consultations with Woods and Cole, its been a long time i am waiting

yeaaaaa, let the ascii flow freely flow

I feel like I finally found a home TheGreek and I agree with you. By that I mean I feel like I can finally be who I am instead of this politically correct b.s. of a person that most of the hair sites demand you to be. If you are not taking any of the products from the advertisers of the site or you say something like shampoo causes hairloss, they ban you. I tell you this politically correct shit is ruining the United States and elsewhere. I don’t know how it started but I have a feeling Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and the media had alot to do with it. Now you say anything you get fired, banned, demoted, looked down upon, it’s getting out of hand.

I didn’t know the main guys name here but you say it’s David so I’ll take your word for it. David, I also want to thank you for letting people be people instead of trained politically correct robots that only say good things so nobody gets “offended”. You seem like a great guy who understands what freedom of speech is all about. From my past experiences, most moderators are just Barney Fife wannabe’s who want to play the lead Sheriff and immediately start playing God on everybody. This place definately has stayed away from that no doubt. Thank you David!!

this also applies to any mainstream media

lets take a typical 300,000 circulation home town newspaper in a town of about a million residents

what do you think the chances are, of them running a huge front page story, about a Major Supermarket Chain, incorrectly scanning items and failing to correct this glitch in their system which rips off customers…( this story is for illustrative purposes)

Chances are this Supermarket Chain runs full page ads on a regular basis in that newspaper for their specials that they are running, on a weekly basis so , they are in effect, paying the salaries of the reporters of that newspaper

what do you think the chances are that they will bite the hand that feeds them and run a negative story on one of their advertisers. ZERO

Similarly, what do you think the possibility of a Computer Magazine running a story saying, Dell computers quality sucks, when Dell Runs Full page ads in their magazine, Same thing, Money talks, and nobody willingly pisses off their advertisers

same thing with the hair sites, Most are paid for advertising, and will not
willingly risk pissing off their advertisers

its not censorship in a traditional sense, its …Im not gonna take money out of my own pocket, so that some poster can express his opinion

You’re right, thegreek. The forums on this site are run in an exemplary way, not just for a hairloss site, but compared with sites on the internet as a whole. HairSite has done our cause a great service over the years and I would say that HairSite deserves some of the credit for the progress made in hair research, by encouraging researchers to move faster and respond to what hairloss sufferers want and expect. HairSite is a truly member-oriented forum, with a minimum of interference or censorship, and a maximum of exposure of ideas, news, and debate. Big props to David and HairSite for filling this need!

I will agree with all of you guys! Good job David!

Nice post TheGreek. Greek Power!
