Curious about the potential for lost grafts from a strip procedure. I have searched archives, however can’t find direct responses. 2 questions.

  1. Are grafts transected in the removal of the strip? If yes, what are the estimates of transections for a typical ear to ear strip?

  2. I as understand it, 10 to 15% of hairs are in the telogen phase. Are these telogen hairs transplanted or are the papilla unable to be utilized from a strip? Further, sorry for my ignorance, out of curiosity, do all hairs in a graft go into telogen together?

Good questions, I don’t think the technicians can actively seek out the telogen follicles while dissecting the strip, I assume they go to waste.
