Splitting up Proscar and alternating with Dut

Any decent ways to split those tiny pills up? If I were to take 2.5 mg every day, that would be easy, but not sure I want to take that much (after 8 years of Propecia, the only noticeable side effect is very subtle gyno).

Given the long half-life of Dut, would it be worthwhile to take Proscar one month and Dut the next, alternating back and forth over time?
