If there were a baldness application for the product (I assume you mean Latisse), I would have to imagine they considered that immediately, and it didn’t work. Someone else posted this same opinion.
Think about it: Is there more money in eyelashes, or baldness? They would have tried by now.

Yup!!! So very true!!! this is so frustrating…i have thinnning hair…any prodcuts that can thicken up minitiaturized hair??? oils, vitamins…etc…

In an investor phone conference, Allergan executives indicated they are developing a product for scalp hair loss that utilizes the active ingredient in Latisse (bimatoprost).

Key words being “in an investor phone conference…”

Ain’t the point. Your original post was incorrect: you implied that A) Allergan had no plans for it, and B) this meant that bimatoprost did not work for scalp hair.

WRONG! Latisse was basically an eye medication and they found that it made eyelashes thicker & longer in the patients…so it was natural for them to prusue its approval as an eyelash thickner & lengthener. Because of established safety profile, the trials were simple as well so the whole approval from FDA went pretty smooth.

However, latisee has not been used for baldness - ever. There is no safety profile regarding use of latisse on entire scalp and there is no guarantee that minitaurized hair will regrow just by applying latissee. It’s commonsense not to jump to baldness first, so your argument is completely invalid.

Having said that they now actually are planning latissee trials for baldness. Will it work or not is anybody’s guess at this point.

Why is it common sense for a business not to try to make a pile of cash? There’s more money in MPB than there is in eyelashes, by a country mile.
