Question to those that know!

Anyone have an idea from experience, what density transplant is needed to be able to use concealers such as topic or dermatch or couvre to good effect. Guessing doesn’t mean much on this topic.

whats the point

» whats the point

Well, like you often say, it’s not realistic to think a transplant will give elvis (when he was alive) density and I want all over coverage on what will be 170cm2 since a type I / II hairline suits me. I don’t mind a bit of concealer but at the momment I have to plaster it on because the intermediate hair only grows 5mm. I reckon I could get 30 fu/cm2 with FUE and so I am wondering.

to me , sorry to say, concealer is the ultimate in vanity and a bit pathetic

we have to come to terms with our hairloss, I mean its not the end of the world
my crown is dead and bald for 20 yrs and I have a nice life and family and children

any woman who judges a man by his hairline is immature, and not worth the time of day, quite frankly
hair loss happens to most of us

dont overreact, getting transplants and concealers
it makes guys appear desperate the concealer thing

to me a concealer is one step away from a bad toupee…what happens if you sweat, if you do have a gf what happens after you step out of the shower for the first time, ops im almost bald, heloooooooooooooo nice to meet you

I have to say that when I read your post it bought a wry smile to my face.

I mean, you are lurking a board about hair transplants. I guess that means that you have or have had an issue about loosing hair. All your post said is “who cares about hair”. If you can’t see it after all this time on the board then your loosing it not hangin-in-there.

A few weeks ago I went for a meal with the lads (old friends). They started talking about hair and how I was the only on not loosing mine. i told them that I use a concealer but they did not believe me even when I showed them (they just didn’t know what to look for). one of my friend allready knew and was laghing that even with honesty, the game was not up. My girlfriends know that I use a concealer and hate it because of the pillows.

It’s just my thing. Hangin, live and let live. Chill yourself and chill others and if us guy like the way we look with hair rather than bald let it be. Believe me, you are no less wierd because you are fine about loosing your hair actually if you don’t care about it then you may be the wierd one or just in denial because you are here (rather than there:-D )

You know that is an excellent question Marco. I never even thought about that before. I don’t even know. It might depend on color, curl, etc…

i am not obsessed to the point of wearing a wig. or using black gunk on my head or risking bodily scarring getting a transplant

would I like more hair? sure

does it bother me to the point I have no confidence and no family life, NOPE

would i be desperate enough to get a transplant and risk a lifetime of expense and scarring chasing my balding scalp …nope

would i put fake gunk on my head or wear a wig and look like an idiot like John Travolta, not in a million years

so i guess it all depends on how you define the word…care

There is quite a bit of truth in what you say although we absolutely MUST admit that the situation is very different for those who have been scarred by previous surgery. The have less choice thn we do.

To be open, I have used concealer for quite a few years. I had enough very fine hair that it was easy to apply and took a few mins a day and looked good.

In truth I have just reached the point where there is a danger of the bad toupee syndrome and I am just facing the prospect of which way to turn.

for your interest it is currently going like this. I cut my hair shorter and shorter as the Type V hair emmerges and I am close to a crew cut so the value of concealer is less and less. I will eith get a transplant or on the basis of what I have said I should achieve a soft landing in baldland:-)

BTW, the idea that you are not obsessed enough to get a transplant or go wear gunk is a load of balls. You are on the forum day after day like the rest of us. In truth you just don’t have the courage for fear that something will go wrong.

courage? ROFLMAO

I dont want white dots all over my head, or a huge scar from someone slicing open my scalp, that is called being smart

because of the fact you did it, doesnt make you brave,
now you are suffering the consequences of your “bravery”

Marco buzz you head.

» Marco buzz you head.

I can’t. It shows the 666 mark on my head that i was born with:-D

In all seriousness, I may have a similar hairline to you but I look serously not good with a total buzz. I keep it just a bot more than buzzed. Like two weeks growth from a buzz. I have a scrawny neck and a thin cranium. It just does not work.

Gosh man don’t say scrawny… that makes me sad… have you showed anyone else your buzzed look? Self perceptions are sometimes brutal and not completely accurate.

Marco,

Thanks for posting your thoughts on WASSUP. You are right.

Wouldnt this depend on your hair characteristics such as contrasts, type of hair(wavy, curl, straigh,) and hair thickness such as fine or thick.
