Question for Natural about dosage of Curcumin&Resveratrol

Hello Natural,
I am currently taking one 1000mg curcumin every day, I would like to add Resveratrol to it and would like to know what is the dosage that you use? and if you take them both at a time in morning and evening. Looking forward for your inputs.
Thanks,
Mintman

Also it would be great what company i should go for Curcumin&Resveratrol. I take superbio 800 g now and I feels its bit too much.

Hi mintman,

Is that LEF’s Super Bio curcumin you are taking? Unfortunately, quite a few people reported shedding and increased thinning on this particular supplement. So I would suggest that you stop using it, and try another brand like Jarrow, Now Foods, or Thorne Research.

Jarrow’s curcumin and resveratrol seem to be well-tolerated among posters. The dosage varies from individual, but I would start off with one capsule of each a day, taken at the same time, and assess your hair/scalp condition. You may eventually want to increase the dosage to twice a day (once in the morning, again in the evening).

By the way, from my experience curcumin does not do anything for hair loss by itself.

Hope this helps!

THanks Natural, I will stop using it. What else do you suggest to mix curicum with? Shall i start with 200mg each/day?. I am using SawPalmetto and MaxiHair for now. Look forward for your suggestion.

Actually, I have found that resveratrol (e.g. http://www.iherb.com/Country-Life-Resveratrol-Plus-60-Veggie-Caps/7394?at=0;or http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Resveratrol-100-60-Veggie-Caps/7918?at=0) “mixes” the best with curcumin.

I would suggest taking this combination in the morning at breakfast. I will take vitamin C/MSM combination during the mid-morning, vitamin E (tocotrienols) in the evening, and vitamin C/MSM before sleeping.

There was a hair loss study done using curcumin and resveratrol (you can find it here: http://www.hairloss-research.org/UpdateResveratrol11-07.html). As you will read, vitamin C, vitamin E (tocopherols), and a touch of cayenne pepper were added to the curcumin/resveratrol combination in this experiment.

Here are some other treatments: http://www.hairloss-research.org/ProtocolMen08.html

Hope this helps,
