Which one did you start with? I have never taken Propecia before, and I’m mainly thinking of taking it for my receiding hairline + thicken up the hair.
Is 5mg going to leave me ‘seeing double’ or so?
Thanks

I’m assuming you meant finasteride, as propecia only comes in 1mg. 5mg?! No. You don’t need to take 5mg. Technically, I take 1.25, but I’m not about to cut the pill in fifths. From what I remember, the plateau effect is already started before 1mg. Taking 5mg will no give you more benefits, and probably just give you more side effects.
You may be getting confused with Proscar which is 5mg, normally people cut it into 1/5’ths.
The idear is to get 1mg of Fin every day.
This can be done by taking 1 Propecia pill per day or 1/5th proscar pill per day.

Take the 5 mg Proscar. The additional finasteride can make a difference in helping you keep the hair that you now have. Focus on keeping what you have now because once it’s gone…well…you are not likely to get much of it back. A tiny little bit of it at best. And that is with you being very aggressive and spending lots of money. KEEP WHAT YOU HAVE! It is far easier to keep what you have than to regrow any that has been lost. I would suggest skipping Proscar altogether and go straight for Avodart. Don’t f*ck around with this if you want to keep your hair.

I tried many drugs, shampoos, gels and creams and finally Propecia Finasteride worked for me. Generic Propecia contains the active ingredient Finasteride, a type II 5-alpha reductase drug that restricts the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. It certainly has some side effects. I too had experienced side effect like decreasing sexual desire in the beginning but as my body got used to it slowly, the side effect disappeared.
After year and a half, today I am satisfied with the result.

How does Avodart differ from Propecia and Proscar? Isn’t it all the same?
