Why dutasteride? I have not seen enough results from dutas users to be convinced that this is really superior, if finasteride doesn’t work for you then you are probably wasting your money on dutasteride.

Not for me, finasteride was useless for me, Dutasteride definately made a difference. I was thinning at the crown 10 years ago(and had been using finasteride for the previous 5 years), I then started using Dutasteride and my crown is still fully thick today. Give it a go I say!

Usual .5mg. I noticed white fluffy hair at the hairline after 3 weeks, it did not grow into full hair at all and there has been some gradual recession since then. On top / crown is very thick though. Duta has a reputation of being more effective on the top and crown compared to front hairline and I’ve had that exact experience. I wrote a more extensive review in this forum last year.

Medical studies show that it does reduce DHT both type I and II substantially. Fin only reduces type II and less so than Dutasteride.
DHT being the main reason you’re losing your hair. Testosterone perhaps being the lesser reason due to its weaker binding affinity to androgen receptors.

Avodart is the medication that is only for men. This medication may be used for the treatment of BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia).
