My doctor advice me 350 FUE but

I went to a Dr. consultation and he advice me that 350 to 400 FUE on my temples would be enough. Well I book my surgery but on the day of my consultation I had my hair cut low and my hairloss was less noticible. MY thinning hairline is more noticible now that it’s longer. Although the agreement was 400 FUE on my temple, if it’s possible to fill in my diffuse hairline, will the doctor do it on the day of my surgery? Has anyone had a similar situation and ask for more graft and had the extra graft done with out any problem? Thanks in advance.

Bump. Anyone can help me out with this

call your doctor and talk about it.

I agree–call your clinic and let them know of your desire to accomplish both the original 350-400 fue, BUT: if your a good candidate and you can get additional grafts to bolster your hairline, you want to proceed with that.

My advice is to agree on a set price and a MAXIMUM # of grafts before surgery.

On a side note, How long was your consult? Did you express these concerns during the consultation? If you left your consult feeling dissatisfied or having your questions unanswered, you should be calling up the clinic to express this.

The doctor/clinic/consultant is supposed to work for YOU— they will either appreciate the feedback, or you will have an answer as to if you want to give them your business.

Either way, you will be fully informed as to how to proceed.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks for your advice. Well I did call the clinic and although I wasn
t able to speak to the doctor at the time, the receptionist told me that adding a few more graft is something they do often but you guys are correct, It’s best I talk to the doctor.

ItsMe, you certainly want to make sure you and your doctor are on the same page before your surgery. The doctor / patient relationship is an inportant one and you’ll want to make sure you have the chance to discuss all your goals with your doctor before the surgery begins.

All of your questions should be answered to your statisfaction and goals discussed.

Best of luck to you my friend.

Kudos to your doctor who doesn’t push you into getting a large number of grafts, do you have pictures? i wonder how bald your temples are and why he only recommend a mere 350 and not thousands that I normally see on this board.

When I went for a consultation my hair was cut to a number 1 guard. buzz cut. Besides my temple my hairloss on my hairline wasn’t that obvious since it’s dissusing. I was thinking about fillin in my temples and keep my hair buzz but at the end of the day it can’t look right. I just need to fill in my diffuse hairline so it can be even with the temples. That’s basically my goal.

I think smaller session is a good idea, go for the less is more, short hair look, that usually works for most people.

Yea I’m going for that but since I’m getting it done, It’s more convinient for me to fill in my hairline evenly.

Have you thought of just using body hair as filler to fill in the diffuse thinning area? I want also want to do only 300-400 grafts the first time but I don’t want to touch my scalp hair, I want to keep my scalp hair the way it is, only use body hair to fill in the thinning spots.

Never really did thought about it or look into it. I have an upcoming FUE HT maybe if it’s advance for a future procedure I might consider it.

How old are you? If you are very young, perhaps that is why your doctor is reluctant to recommend work in your hairline. If you are young and receding, chances are your going to recede a lot more before your hair loss stablizes. When your natural hairline recedes further, any grafts added there will become an isolated line of hair with bald scalp behind it. Then you will be forced to have more and more small procedures to chase your receding hairline. It’s best to wait until your hair loss has stabilized.

My hairloss been stabilized for like 4 years. I’m 26. The HT doctor suggested to fill in my temples and replace the the thinning hair at my hairline which if all comes out great, it’s going to make a huge difference.
