This a question for somebody who can help, specially el_duterino:
I put 1 g. of RU on 30 ml of plain lotion (50 Etanol + 25 ppg + 25 water). After it, I shake it for 5 min. but the result lotion is color “grey” not colorless, and it dries very quickly after put on the scalp.
How can I make to be sure that lotion is optimally made?

that’s what i get too. this is fine, it works fine even though it looks a bit grey. if you increase the PG% or water it will not dry as fast.
let us know how the results come up !

Thanks. My concern is that all this years we´ve using 5% and 2% commercial lotions that are completely colorless and so, perfectly diluted. I guess this is the best that can be home made.
Would adding some dmso drops increase itching? I have some flaking from ppg, that´s why I use nizoral daily.
I´ll keep you informed soon or if I see some results.

RU is too expensive to experiment with mixes but perhaps it dissolves better in more water. try with more water, less ppg & alcohol.
DMSO is also good to help dissolving the powder, and improving skin penetration. 5% of DMSO is what i sometimes use in my Mix. thats too little to have any major negative impact on the skin imo.

I don’t think RU dissolves in water. I’d avoid adding more water. In fact, I wouldn’t put water in the vehicle AT ALL, much less increase the amount.

ok. i will try 65% ethanol, 5% DMSO and 30% PG in my next mix then.
too much PG makes the hair greasy, that’s why I liked the water.

Any particular reasons to avoid water ?

Because I don’t think RU dissolves in water.

Well, my friends, now after 4 months of continuous use I can draw my personal conclusion about RU:
It works.

I use it once a day in conjuction with dutas & minox, and, in my case, adding it makes a difference between a wild hair and a weak one. I have even a very few new hairs on the temples.

So, the question are:
What can we make to assure that we can have access to RU in the future?
Does anybody know alternative places where they can synthesize it (apart from our friend O.)? Could we make a joint search?

Hello my friend:

It´s difficult to say, as now I also use minoxidil + dutasteride in high doses (double than normal).
Doublign minox has had strong effects, so I cannot attribute it to RU alone.
In any case, I think RU is the best adding that you can do to your treatment, and not expensive if used once a day.

Que tal? I wanted to ask you how you mix the RU stuff and where do you get it. El Duterino posted how to mix it, but I have never mixed anything, and I didn’t understand him well.

The part I didn’t understand was the 60% of alcohol, certain % of something else, etc…what does that mean…like you put how much of each and a little container, mix it and apply it…

so if you could explain in the simplest term for me, that I have no idea about mixing chemicals…se agradeceria de antemano!

those would be really nice, but also wanted to ask if maybe you got the before/after pics till you started using dut (there was a mention that you were being on RU for 4 months, that’s what I refer to) cause I’m curious of what are the magics of just RU
