As an veteran who wears wigs every summer, I really have a say in “how to wear wigs coolly”. Especially in the weather in the south, where you sweat profusely as soon as you go out, it’s really torture if you don’t know the method.
Here are some of my experiences in wearing wigs without being stuffy over the years. I hope it can help you who are also afraid of heat:
1. Choose the right length of wig.
I basically don’t wear long wigs in summer. Long hair is not only heavy, but also sticks to the back of the neck, which is very hot and uncomfortable. The short Bob style I wear most often is just the right length, not sticking to the neck, and very neat. Especially the ones with a little layering and airy feeling, which are visually more refreshing.
2. Try to choose no glue styles.
I tried to use wig glue to fix lace wigs before, but the glue started to melt when I sweated in the sun, and the whole person was sticky and hot. Now I basically only use glue-free wigs, such as the wear & go series from CurlyMe. You don’t need to stick anything on. You can go out after putting it on, and your scalp can breathe a lot.
3. Add a little “coolness” to the wig.
This is my little trick - I will wear a thin sweat-absorbing scarf under the wig. Some are made of bamboo fiber, which is a little cool and can absorb some sweat, making the scalp a lot drier.
4. Wearing a half wig or a drawstring wig is lighter.
Especially the machine-made drawstring half wig and v part wig, it is not as stuffy as a traditional lace front wig, and the ventilation effect is very good. It is especially recommended for sisters who sweat frequently; it really saves life!
It is false that wearing a wig will not be hot, but the smart way of wearing it can greatly reduce the discomfort of “the head is covered”. With the right method, you can also spend the summer easily!
