Okey, so maybe what one could do now is that someone from here (not all of us) just sends an e-mail to Price and refers to her comment. Ask if it also holds for Follica, since they are a stem cell company. I doubt she will answer, but you never know. So long as we don’t bombard her with e-mails, and since she stated such a comment so that it basically trivially includes Follica, maybe she will say “yes this also holds for Follica”, although I don’t think she will comment on that

how old are you?

I really don’t get it…if Aderans just officialized that “patients will have access to hair multiplication tecnology by the end of the decade” why are you guys freaking out???Just a couple of days ago all of you were so excited about this news and now all hope is gone just because of a stupid article???

i never freaked out…at least not in the last 2 years (about hairloss research). i never was excited about the aderan news. it sounds good to hear news like this, but history told me that “good news about hairloss research” is never something you should get excited about.

if aderans would say, they start a product on monday, well that would be a reason to be really excited. but some news that it looks “good” or “better” is never something to get excited about in hairloss research.

I think you’re absolutely right and I get your point of view…I don’t trust anyone in this market as weel…but don’t you guys think that this time something bigger is moving?I mean…houndred of patients for the clinical trials, advertising even on the radio and they are taking some real responsability when they assouring that we’re all gonna benefit of their hm technology by the end of the year…Honestly, I trust in Aderans more than I trust in some random article on the web…

where did you get this from, that aderans could bring something out at the end of the year?

ya, a study with 100 of patients sounds good to me, too. better than 10 or 15 people at the intercytex study. who knows, maybe we’re lucky and aderans can bring a product to market in the next 5 years??

Aderans did indeed say that they’d be ou wih something ‘before the end of the decade’. But Washenik (or whatever their king-researcher is called) also said that “if anything, HM would be done adjunct to an HT and would cost either the same as an HT or more”.

I personally dont think anything that is still under the surgeons control would be good for ‘mass market’. Theyd still charge ridiculously high fees for their surgeries, and that is how the story goes.

Follica had the potential to become an Over the Counter (OTC) product, where the user goes home, does some dermabrasion, applies magic lotion, and bang!, in 9 months we;ve got hair.

Logic suggests that their september trials dint go as well as planned. Else, Price wouldnt shoot down her own company. Either that, or this article is taken out of context - it was published in oct 08, but when was the interview taken ?? we have aug 25 zohar statements saying this technology shows promise, and that itd be out in 3-4 years.

Either way, Im done following this.

“magic lotion” ? bang? 9 months? that’s not hair, that’s a baby

I just want these Follica monkeys to give us an OFFICIAL press release, so we can stop speculating. Not knowing is a total butt-nutter.

Having said that, I can’t say I’m surprised by the confusion. I’ve yet to see anything in the hair-biz that wasn’t shady or shrouded in technicalities.

 rotfl, still - if its aderans that is the first to market with something, theres no hope for the middle class.

And, no point following news and press releases. Only increases stress thereby increasing hair loss. BUT, if a totally ‘full head of hair back’ types solution comes up sometime, Il be sure to stand first in line. I do hope it does.

did your hairloss just start? i was still 19 when i realized i was losing my hair. im 25 now. so, about 5-6 years of having this sh*t. you learn to live with it. minoxidil did good things to my hair and improved it. its nothing near a full head of hair, but i can live with it.

You cant read too much into this, there are enough companies working on it so I am optimistic, the Aderans phase II trial is a nice surprise

Well i remember what peter mac (a well respected member) posted on another board after he attended the Hair transplant conference in 07. He said he was absolutly suprised just how far back HM reality is. He sat down and spoke to some of the aderans/icx ppl and he said he was shocked how far behind they are and how little they’ve moved along. He said at the time it def wont be out until a minimum of 2014/2015.

Pre Follica developments though! Amazing how one post from a member about Dr Price has sparked off this mass negativity from everyone! Yes it is a waiting game but if you thought it would be 30 years for all products then you just wouldnt bother!

Actually i have just clicked on the link at the start of this thread and if you scrol down towards the bottom is amazing how many people are panicking about these comments! Makes me think people were banking on follica a lot more than they let on! The level of investment makes me think good things about them it really does!

I wonder if Zohar is aware of what these comments by Price has done to the following and belief in Follica!

No man, its been around since i was 16… slowly over the years its gotten bad, ive changed hairstyles a cpl of times to cover it up, now the lack of density is plainly visible. Hits hard esp if ur single. Not that a lot depends on it, but its a HUGE hit to the confidence.

I think its time i started on minox or something, and pray that something good happens on the treatments side. Although, with the Gaza invasion and Bombay burning, i dont see why god should make this his priority…

I’ve never banked on Folica going commercial any time soon.

But I have been banking like hell on the idea that it ultimately works. I expect them to have visible money-shot results at least on a test subject within a decade.
