I was not informed about shock loss being a possibility.
In Oct.08 I had a hair transplant to fill in the front of my scalp which had been thinning gradually.
Hereditary in my family. My Dr.implnted 375 grafts each one to yield 1 to 3 hairs.
I suffered what is called shock loss where the surrouning follices are damaged and those hairs fall out. My hair is even thinner than before! My research tells me they SHOULD grow back but sometimes don’t. Any advice?

Usually if shockloss happens from a procedure it is only temporary. Have you contacted your doctor??

rwamc,
Would you happen to have taken and photos before and after the procedure? The fact that your procedure was in Oct. '08 suggests that this loss of the pre-existing hair is permanently loss. Some hair restoration clinics just don’t tell you the worst case scenarios or pros and cons of each procedure. Unfortunately, there is also a possibility that you have experienced additional hair loss. You should know that hair loss can continue over many years.
