Generic Dut vs Avodart Results

I want to get different points of views on the current issue at hand I am facing. I switched to Avodart about 3 months ago. Prior to that I was using generic dutasteride for about 12 months. 0.5mg daily with both dut and avodart has been my dosage.

I was fairly satisfied with the use of generic dutasteride in the long run. However since switching to avodart my hair has been very thin, limp, and shedding about 50-100 hairs daily since I’ve started. I have posted studies from medical journals and articals proving generic is always underdosed compared to original brands. However, my results thus far say otherwise.

Any rational or reason anyone can think of as to why this is? Perhaps I should switch back to generic? or…Give it more time?

For the record, my hair looks almost exactly as it did prior to taking dutasteride in december of 2008. I had atleast some regrowth and/or thickening with generic dutasteride. OH HOW I WISH I JUST TOOK FINASTERIDE.

I think generic dut is nowhere near as strong as brand name Avodart. I think it causes more testosterone to become free and those attack the hair follicles instead of the DHT because so much DHT is suppressed. OR, its just causing more growth and that’s what’s causing the initial shed.

Good point. I’m hoping it will be the latter.
