I was reading todays THE SUN newspaper and spotted this,just found link online

THERE may be hope for millions of bald men, after scientists discovered how to grow hair on bare skin.
Swedish researchers have found a gene in stem cells which can re-grow hair follicles on mice.
In tests, they re-grew hair on DEAD eight-week-old mice – new hair follicles stayed healthy and continued to grow for up to 14 months.

I’m really excited about this. i think this is the research that someday will cure baldness. the reason why i am exited is that the process worked on a human and not just on mice.
Since they already can copy stem cells they would be able to inject these stem cells it into damaged tissue on our scalps and thereby regenerate skin and new hair follicles. I know it’s probably much more complicated than that so please correct me if i am wrong! hell i am an optimist…

anyway… IMHO this is a big breakthrough in science and with the possibilities connected to this research i would say that there’s an interest in speeding up the research in this area of science. No doubt it is a popular science field and will continue to be in many future years…

Ok just read the articles, that’s very promising news. Obviously stem cells will be the real cure for baldness, since they can create and regenerate organs. Hopefully they’ll try that on humans soon, but knowing our luck we’ll have to wait for obligatory ‘5 years’ that amount to nothing in the end.
