Because he got caught plagiarizing and those that for whatever reason need his advice or want to be buddies feel sorry for him.

And he’s been wrong quite a few times, more than apparently. Look how many times it took for others to point out that yes, there are and can be side effects from the things he recommends.

Actually it seems quite a few do care. It’s only the same few that jump on me if I bring it up. And I’ve noticed that some other well-respected posters do not even give him the time of day anymore. Two have even commented on it via email.
