found this posted on another mb. dont know if it’s genuine, probably not. dont c why they wud email some ppl bk and not others
This is an email from intercytex…
To clarify we plan to finish the current Phase II trial and collect all the data. We also plan to continue our preclinical work. For the next clinical trial we believe this would best be carried out in partnership with a specialist in the field. It is normal for Biotech Companies of our side to seek partnerships to fund later stage clinical trials. We do not believe the overall progress of the project will be impacted.
At the current time, we estimate that ICX-TRC will be available no earlier than 2010, however we do not know at this stage what region it will be launched in first.
If u want my opinion then it is perfectly obvious ICX have failed and are trying to put an even vaguely positive spin on things as 2 not scare the investors 2 much. If Their last report is the best spin there marketing team could put on the situation then they shud all be fired lol

It is not perfectly obvious they have failed. There’s a chance they may have failed, but it’s far from perfectly obvious. If they have failed, then they are committing outright fraud and not just spin. Since I don’t think that outright fraud is likely, I think ICX either:
Got mixed results and is seeking more investment (i.e. partners) to mitigate the risk in further costly research.
Got enough positive data from phase II to interest a partner.
Note that if #2 is indeed the case, seeking a partner for phase III is exactly what I’d expect ICX to do. They stated they’ll be seeking a commercialization partner all along. ICX is a small company, if they need a partner, why not do so as soon as they can?
Also, for the record, Intercytex hasn’t canceled the project, and isn’t selling TRC, as some of the board members have been suggesting. A partnership is not the same as a sale.

If this is really their email, it doesn’t sound so bad to me at all.
I quote:
“It is normal for Biotech Companies of our side to seek partnerships to fund later stage clinical trials.”
If true, sounds OK to me.
“We do not believe the overall progress of the project will be impacted.”
If true, sounds good. Although “we are confident” as opposed to “we do not believe” would be better.
Maybe so many here are so negative because they had unrealistic expectations of what the March announcement would reveal.
