Early results on Class II patient - video of 4 month after 1300 CIT

Here we have a Norwood 2 patient (potential NW 3V) who pursued our clinic in hopes of increasing density on the frontal hair line. The patient has above average hair density of 190 hairs per square centimeter of a medium caliper. Dr. Cole treated this patient by transplanting 1300 non-shaven CIT grafts in a single session via C2G technology. Placement onto the frontal hair line requires extreme precision due to the fact that it is the most noticed region of the scalp. In the future, the patient may choose to extend the temple points.

Since surgery, this patient has been utilizing Hair Cycle, an all natural hair product that promotes longer life of scalp hair. From the photos, you will notice that the patient’s recipient area has healed very well and redness in the area is minimal. Below are images of his current progress at only four months post-op. We are excited for this patient and overwhelmed with another successfully treated case. At four months, the patient has only seen about 35% to 40% of the expected yield. We expect this patient to see maximal coverage in the next 6 months. :ok:

190 per sq cm? Is that very high?

nice early result btw.

Yes. A hair density of 190 cm2 is just slightly above average with 180 being the average. The patient’s hair is salt and pepper of a medium caliper. The medium thichkness of the hair provides better coverage than if it were fine. This patient has excellent hair characteristics and donor resources to maintain further hair recession.

So, what is yeild? Does that mean that he’s going to get 60-65% more growth?

Very nice video!

I think this is very good only 1300 grafts. CIT normally how many months out before we get to see the maximum growth?

the guy had so much hair to begin with he was only slightly thinning in the temples, then the after pics is combed strange

its almost like he could have combed his hair different and never had a transplant and gotten the same pics

I think it’s very apparent on the left side because at least if you compare the pre-op photo to the video at the 39th second. This growth is considerable if you keep in mind that hair grows so slowly. He is getting the best growth possible IMO. :stuck_out_tongue:

considering that without body hair…just using head hair as donor
many guys can tap out of donor hair at about 6000 to 7000 grafts

this guy just used approximately 20 percent, possibly of his lifetime donor hair…to fill in some slightly receded temples
to me thats insane

That’s 190 individual hairs not grafts, in other words he has approx 95 grafts per cm2, correct? Assuming about 2 hairs per grafts on avg.

Sorry Hangin,

Sometimes our resident photographer is out of the office:-(
Here are photos from the patient’s consultation. Hair site may post them as I there may be an upload problem.

That’s hair transplant, there s no way arond it. Don’t forget we also have body hair to spare.

Sure Ixan,

190 hairs per square centimeter is slightly above average. I is very possible that the patient has 95 follicular unit grafts per square centimeter.

yes there is way around it

you can wait until you NEED a transplant and you are older and you know your future thinning pattern…that way you wont use up an inordinate amount of donor hair to thickly transplant a small region, that you cannot possibly keep up with this thickness in the later years with your available donor

body hair is not necessarily a savior it is iffy many times , a lot of times it does not even grow right, and its a one by one hair transplant in comparison to the 2 or 3 hair per graft of head hair, it is also horrendously expensive

I couldn’t agree with you any more hangin. Hair transplant, it’s like a pool… Don’t jump in until you’ve become familiarized with the basics/crash course and know the depth of the pool that you will enter. Most of the signs with be apparent in your family history of hair loss. Rememeber, you could sleep on it for now:sleeping: …
