This patient came to see Dr. Wong to have his crown rebuilt. Dr. Wong and his team placed 2218 grafts in one session and the result shown is one year post-op. I have included a photo of the placement as well as a close up photo of the center of the whorl pattern.

It looks fine. This is a crown reconstruction thus his front was not in need of attention.

I don’t like strips.

They are down right bad for a number of reasons pointed out over & over here including by the victims of strips.

Stitch,

Most patients will have a majority of doubles that occur naturally in the donor area so this is not unusual and the crown as well has naturally occurring singles/doubles etc. so there is no real reason why the lack of plugginess is unusual. What prevents the plugginess is using naturally occurring follicular units and placing them in fine incisions, relatively flat against the scalp as they normally lay to begin with.

Is what you described the same as follicular units? doubles mean a unit that has two follicles growing together naturally?

Yes, naturally occurring follicular units. 1 hair grafts are referred to as singles. Two hair grafts are doubles and so on.

Wow, amazing, 2000 grafts can fill such a large area and so natural, if he ever needs work for the top and frontal, he probably needs only another 4000 and he will be done!
