Please find below Dr. Nigam’s 2013 3rd Case Study of Hair Doubling with Stem Cell & DP Cells

In this case study we have extracted 1500 grafts from the donor area, 200 grafts were sent for stem cells multiplication, 100 grafts were sent for DP Cell Culture which will be ready after 2 months, 50 graft were used for DP isolation.

Hair doubling was done on remaining 1150 grafts. We were expecting 2300 follicular unit to be seen but we can see 2607 new follicular units.

There is a small correction in the picture name “Front”, it is 1150 New Grafts were bisected @Derma Papilla level and not 1050. Similarly 2300 grafts were implanted and not 2100.

Dear Dr Nigam,

thanks for this assessment. However I have to wonder what exactly you have circled. If you zoom in it appears that a red circle has been placed around pretty much every visible and even around not visible follicles:

here is an example of such:

where exactly is there a follicle? I cant seem to see anything.

This is not comprehensive. Can you not simply provide us with before / after images of the exact same donor area after a few days so that we can see if the donor area is regenerating?

What you have provided are random red and blue circles and figures which nobody can verify.

This is not extensive. Can you not basically offer us with before / after pictures of the identical contributor place after a few times so that we can see if the contributor place is regenerating?

Dr. Nigam,

It seems you are focusing mostly on photos and hair counts in the recipient area. I think you should be giving equal attention to regrowth in the donor areas; otherwise you can’t accurately claim that this is “hair doubling”.

Roger, In this case we have not done donor doubling but hair doubling at the recipient by bisecting the FU in vitro and implanting both the bisected parts at the recipient.

OK, thanks Dr. Nigam. That makes sense. So far I have not heard of any other doctor doing a procedure like that.

it would be great if you could show us a follicle before and after in vitro bisection.

Also, when bisecting follicles from the donor area, do you fill in the same incision point with one half and make a new incision for the second half?

I am also having difficulty understanding how you can get a yield of more than double (i.e. 2300 from 1150) the follicles through bisection?!

Please find below the videoscopic pictures.

1500 grafts were bisected in Vitro and all grafts were implanted in the recipient area. Please remember this is not a donor doubling, we have implanted both the bisected parts of the follicle on the recipient area.

For quick healing of donor area, we have injected stem cell, DP cells with extra cellular matrix and the picture of healed donor area would be uploaded soon.

most of the links you have provided are wrong.

half of them are delete requests. The other half are pictures in your private google account which would require your username/password to view.

The first few pictures on sendspace work, however I have never in my life seen such blurry pictures.

The work you are doing is really interesting, but I fail to understand why you have such difficulty to explain the images which you provide in a comprehensive manner

Its hair doubling, not donor doubling. What he said was the doubled hairs, or basically split into two pieces, were implanted in the recipient so you get 2X hairs at the recipient versus replenishing the donor and getting the other half in the recipient.

Hairmann,

  1. FU’S were extracted from the donor at the back of the scalp.
    2)These FU’S were bisected in vitro at the level of dermal papilla under magnification.
    3)The bisected FU’S were implanted at hairline and front of the scalp.
    4)Activated stemcells,isolated dp cells and ecm were injected into the bisected FU’S after implantation at the recipient.
    5)We have not implanted any bisected FU’S at the donor back scalp.
    6)We will give additional stemcell shot on day 45 with the cultured dermal papilla cells at the recipient and the donor scalp.

I am 34 year old male suffering from hair loss, I had visited your clinic a few days back , Dr Naina consulted me and suggested to go for stem cell treatment and 1000 fue for touching up hairline. I had also consulted another clinic which does hair transplant & stem cell and they told me that stem cell results are very poor and they only yield 20-30 % of the desired result hence they recommended me fue. He also told me that the result of stem cell would not give me good density, it would only camouflage the bald patch. I am very much confused as to go for stem cell or total fue or fut.

I had one more question. I know that you you treat so many people on day to day basis so why don’t you post more results on your website ( I have till date seen only 2-3 results displayed.

The stemcells you are most probably talking about are allogenic fat stemcells in an ampoule,which is purely a marketimg gimmick.
As far i know we are the only one having FDA licensed and certified lab for regenerative hair research in INDIA.In our stemcell technique we extract 100 FU’S from the back of your scalp and send to our lab in mumbai.
Where the cells are sorted, isolated and then activated for your first injection.
Subsequently we will inject 3 more injections of multiplied stemcells and isolated dp cells after every 2 months approx.
