I am quite surprised to see that the price of a BHT graft is 4.00 compared to a scalp hair which i think was around 1.25. Wheres the logic in this? Are doctors preying on bald mens desperation who have no other means left for a HT? I am no expert in this but procedure wise, isnt BHT the exact same thing as any other hair transplant method? You extract hair from one region and transplant it on another, so why the higher price? Considering BHTs growth uncertainties, it should be LOWER in price. Anyone want to enlighten me on this?

Supply and demand. The price will remain high as long as there are enough people wanting to get it done. Hair transplant is never meant to be for the average joe.

yes, but to put a price of 4 dollars a graft on a procedure thats still quite uncertain is a bit odd. Of course these doctors have that choice, but in the interest of being fair and logical it does not make sense to me.
I agree apesmith. But $4.00 is definitely a cheaper rate than most all other clinics. The average is somewhere around $7 to $8 AND I remember when BHT was $12 per graft. Imagine that!

$4 from a reputable and experienced clinic is very fair and as good as it gets. In fact it is at about the current sweet spot regardless of geography.
I paid $15.00 per mini plug in 1992!
