Call with Aderans about test trials - screening for study

i just had a 30 minute call with aderans as they contacted me about being a test patient in their study in new york city. they are taking a 1cm sample from the back of the scalp. then they are going to use four test areas on the scalp to inject the hair cells from the removed part in the back.

so if you are interested now is the time to get on it.

Is this for real? What number did you call?

yes it is real. i have no reason to lie. i have been staring at this friggin site for 12 years waiting for any normal news, not hyped or whatever.

i called 800-480-1641 and was pre screened. then the nyc office called me to give me the details and ask if i wanted to actually do it

When would they start trial 2?

i travel for work a lot and that is a deal breaker as they need you available for when the cells are ready to be injected. so there is a chance that i could be away for a week for work and the cultured cells would have an expiration on them and it wouldnt be optimal for them.

so if that wasnt a deal breaker i would have signed up and been ready to go with them.

but this is all real and they need people willing to be subjects. they are injecting in 4 sites on the scalp and taking a 1cm sample from that back for starters.

What was the results on their first trail?

you can go to their website and read. they arent shy about claiming they will be successful

I posted here after checking their website. They did not write anything about Phase 1 results.

ha ha, I was just browsing their site.

Where we are going
Aderans Research is aggressively pioneering the science of hair regeneration, focusing on the biological and scientific challenges to regenerative growth. Given the early successes of its research and clinical study, ARI believes that a bioengineered breakthrough is likely. We anticipate that patients will have access to hair multiplication technology by the end of the decade, and will enjoy the convenience of same-day office visits, much like the most common cosmetic procedures.

Yes, Bosley is mentioning “future technology” in at least one
of their recent brochures. I think, if I recally correctly,
they are claiming in there at this time that they expect this
will only be a supplemental procedure to HT. I suspect that
they are probably referring to Aderans specifically, since I
think they have a close relation with that company.

all reading between the lines on my part though…

I hope you get a great result Dreamster. Please keep us updated. Despite the cynical attitude of many on the board, researchers are trying to find a solution to “making” more donor hair available for REAL hair replacement. Aderans has been working quietly for the past several years in lieu of some of earlier over-optimistic remarks by one of their researchers. It didn’t mean that they weren’t still in their labratories trying. Apparently they feel they have something that “might go” in humans. This is really GOOD news folks. I hope they have success and all of you should too. I want baldness defeated FOR HUMANITY just like I’d like to see acne and psoriasis and eczema defeated FOR HUMANITY. Life is tough enough without having to deal with dermatological disorders that affect your self esteem and appearance.

I’d add cancer too, if you are diagnosticed with pancreatic cancer then your hairloss problems won’t be very important anymore as worms will eat you anyway, with or without hair. I met a person with only 30 years old who had just been diagnosticed, you’re not supposed to get this kind of disease before you’re 45 years old. It’s a shame we can’t still do anything against these kind of diseases, so we shouldn’t be surprised if baldness hasn’t still been cured. For all these things, I say it again, we all should have been born later, 100 years later maybe, by that time cancer will be curable and ICX perhaps will have told us what does “increase in hair count” means. Does anybody have a time travel machine ? any patent that we can read and experiment at home ?

Yes we all hope they have success, but what we hope for and what we actually get can be completely diferent things. :expressionless:

ICX said exactly the same thing about TRC.

Also Aderans group own Bosley and coinsidently Bosley have first dibs on TRC when they fisnish phase II trials.

What is interesting is that George Cotsarelis is in the Scientific Advisory Board for Aderans. You can see it on their homepage.
