Breakthrough in STRIP scar repair - Dr. Jones

Breakthrough in Strip scar repair using BOTOX injection.

This is one of Dr. Jones’ patients. The first set of photos are pre op, 1.5 cm scar. Dr. Jones had attempted revision once one year previously with no luck, the scar stretched back to
1.5 cm.

6 months ago Dr. Jones did another scar reduction, this time injecting 60
units of botox into the left hand side of the scar, none in the
right.

The scar 6 months postop is and average of 3 mm on the left,
1.1 cm on the right.

6 months post op.

Wow that is a nasty nasty scar. How did he end up having a scar like that?

Im happy for the gentleman. Glad it worked.

Im curious how botox helped prevent the scar from stretching.

Hairsite- Did Dr Jones say anything about it.

Thanks a lot for sharing.

BOTOX? Never thought of that. Why does that work for strip scar?

OMG, I thought my scar was bad. What happened to him? It’s almost as if he had scalp reduction done at the back .

Anyway, this looks promising, can you find out how many patients had he treated using Botox and the success rate?

You are probably.

this looks amazing but maybe we should see how it works for more people before we call it a breakthrough

thanks for posting this

looks interesting

If botox works by reducing the muscle pull on both sides, can it be given a few weeks after? Or, the moment the scar starts widening?
Was it given below the scar all along or only at specific points in the neurovascular bundles?

I don’t mean to be a negative nancy, but am I missing something here? It looks a little better to me, but not amazing.

My girlfriend had botox done and the stuff is not permanent. She needs to go back every 6 months for maintenance. Amazing what women would do in order to look pretty :stuck_out_tongue: Anyway my question is since botox is not permanent, will the scar stretch back after a few months?

Who did this strip? Botox doesn’t seem too practical and is quite expensive these days.
