Bender\'s 6 months update (2.5k FUE w Armani)

Hi all,

So here it is, I made it to the iconic 6 months mark!

The time really flies by, I can tell you. Anyhow… as you can see I let my hair grow longer again- I don’t really like it this way but the buzzing ain’t an option at the moment (following orders from Dr Armani!). It’s a shame because the buzz cut does really do a good trick at evening out the density of my hair.

As for the progress- it’s definitely getting there, albeit it could be faster. I met Dr Armani a last weekend and he estimates that I might be at about 40-50% of final density so that should be more or less right on track.

The frontal part of my transplanted hairline is actually getting pretty thick, while the temples are a bit behind, especially the left side. But I am seeing some new activity there as well with some new tiny hair popping up here and there.

So, the framing of the face is now done, and I’m hoping for more density to come progressively in the coming months.

BTW, even at this stage I can tell you that the new hair has been such a confidence booster! It’s almost hard to believe what a few hundred hair can do to your morale and confidence! Thanks Dr Armani

Wish you all a happy holliday season whatever you might be celebrating now and in the coming weeks!

Looks good so far and there is still tons of growth to come. I think you should leave it shaved, it looks really good like that.

Looks awesome!

I find this very interesting cause i am thinking of
getting FUE done and then just keep my hair buzzed very short, like in your 4.5 month pics.

Do you think it would be completely undetectable?
has anyone commented?

And why cant you keep it shaved?

very nice. your 4.5 and 4 buzz cut also looks very good. Whats the hairline density? Im sure it must in 70s?

Thanks a lot and more hair to grow for u

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the comments! Much appreciated.

As for your questions:

  • Yes, the buzz cut looks 100% undetectable. If you look at my pics, the left side looks a little bit wierd. However this was only when I tilted my head to a side and let sun/ harsh light shine on my scalp. Otherwise it’s not visible at all. And I guess it’s smoothing out now cos I really can’t see any bumpiness or anything anymore.

  • Density: yes, the final density is meant to be 70 gr/ cm2. Good eye

  • And as for why buzzing is not an option now- Dr Armani doesn’t recommend it at this stage. Last time I had to promise him I won’t do it again before my results are fully grown out… it sucks a bit but hey ho, I can wait another 6 months…

Do you guys think too that buzzing your hair post HT or in general can have an adverse effect on your hair? It was actually the 1st time I heard this from Dr Armani.

Thx.

Bender
Looking good! I too like the buzzed look on you. I have always buzzed my hair after my transplant work . I am now 3 months post transplant from my last hairline work and I buzz it every 3 or 4 days. Growth has been exceptional so I’m not sure where that comes from . He must have had someone in the past that had a bad experience and associated it with cutting the hair .

You look great. You will continue to get thickening over the coming months. Keep us posted!

I think if you waited 1 month after your HT it would be fine to buzz it.

Bender,
Nice result! I wanted to ask you, whats the name of that white pillow that comes around your neck??
Cheers!

Hey guys,

Thanks for the messages!

I guess too Dr. Armani must have had somebody who shaved/ buzzed their hair excessively and from this might have had a poor yield since I can’t see that a gently done buzz cut every 2 weeks can do something to your hair especially at this stage. But anyhow, I’ll respect his advice and won’t do it until cca. the 1 year mark.

Muscleboy- your update is due shortly as well, isn’t it? I’d be very interested to see how it comes along!

Boris- The name of the pillow that I used after the op is ‘OBUS FORME’. I bought it in the Pharmacy in the same building where Dr Armani’s clinic is (in Dubai)- don’t know if you’d be able to buy it elsewhere? It’s really a great pillow, much better than those small travel ones.

OK, I’m off to check out my hairline to see if there are some new additions- this is kind of my routine these days

Speak soon!

Hey Bender,
Just one quest, what type of hair you have? Is it fine or thick? In other words, where you a good candidate for FUE?
Cheers,

Boris- my hair is definitely fine. I guess that makes me a good candidate for FUE?

I think I know why buzzing is not recommended.
The clippers actually pull you hair up when they clip, perhaps putting stress some follicles before they have matured?

Hey Bender,
Well, let me put it this way, your degree of hairloss is small, and since you only wanted to work on your hairline FUE is ideal since 2.5k are few grafts. In case you were beyond a NW5 and with fine hair as you say you have, you would defenately have to rule out FUE at least on the 1st surgery…
So in your case, had your hair been not fine your result would of been even better, but dont worry u got what you wanted it seems

Cheers
