I have a big question about beard hair transplants.
So there are no scars what so ever?
Because this is the face we are talking about, not a scalp.
Are there pics of the face after a few months…?
Boy I remember when a certain “you know who” Doc was firmly against beard transplants. and now I see even he is doing them.

I think he will only use them for repairs in the strip scar area. I think that’s where I would start anyway. This is interesting. I want to see some more after pics.
“Boy I remember when a certain “you know who” Doc was firmly against beard transplants. and now I see even he is doing them.” I think if you read diamonds case he had no other choice no donor from anywhere and he is only using them on the scars.I would not say it is the same philosophy as others docs doing beard hair.
Duck,
Do you know if it leaves scars on the face or throat?»

Reading on Woods for years and him taking on some of the worst repair cases that others would not touch. I do not think he would scar someones face up for a few hair. Maybe he will show post op photos?? As far as not touch beard hair? I remember on the head he was against them.Because he had to remove some another doc put on the scalp. This was all over the net years ago. And he felt they just did not look right grown out. Maybe you want to find the exact quote where he say’s he would never do it in any case? So I can follow what you are saying.
» how many beard hairs can an average person spare for hair transplant?
Everyone would be different on this as far as how many beard hair that can be taken. If you are one that grows beard hair well the range can be from 2000 to 10,000+ beard hair grafts . I suspect that around 5000 would be the maximum number an M.D would feel comfortable taking for the first pass = allow the facial area to heal well and proceed with the remaining.

Dear Boomboom,
There are no scars from the extractions of facial donor hair using the FUSE techniques.
I remember when we performed, in my knowledge, the first ever extraction of beard hair by fue in Feb 2006 in the forum poster fueoptions. That was a cautious first step. I am glad that it has opened a new donor resource for many.
After that we have done numerous cases. There are various indications where the facial hair can be used. Due caution, of course, must be exercised. Facial hair is not for everyone or for every area.
You can see some pictures of fueoptions, checkingin and finallyfree’s beard donor areas months after their extractions by doing a search on their name.
