About the forum view

»
» The most important aspect of this problem, which I think needs to be
» addressed, is that it appears that UNLESS A POSTER SPECIFICALLY POSTS TO
» HIS FAVORITE SUB-FORUM, his post will be “merged” with the all-topic “mega
» forum”.
»
» And I’m not sure if that’s a good idea, because it tends to break down the
» distinctness of the separate forums.
»
» HairSite, is there a way to prevent this or to make it easier (or more
» obvious) for posters to navigate to and post to JUST their favorite forum
» (like HM), without having posts get lost in an all-topic “mega forum”?
»
» Is there a way to better segregate the separate forum topics so this
» doesn’t happen?

Absolutely agree on that part

I am working on it. Will try to make that happen…will need a little bit of time though, but definitely on the forum customization list.

Thanks

Is it possible to date stamp the forum as was the case with the previous version so that new posts are marked?

(Oh, I’ve just seen the “mark all as read” stamp but I can’t tell what it has done.

Thanks

I would just like to say.the new look forum is great looking.

I have noticed that we are no longer able to edit the post we have done, also we are unable to view all of one thead. Is this staying like this.

I noticed the email option, are we able to email one and each other,or have I got this wrong.

What happen if someones no good at maths to do spam protection check. We might just have a few thick forum members, who knows…GET A CALCULATOR,I KNOW!

I also put this on the HM forum.Opps! Sorry!

we are unable to view all of one thead. Is this staying like
this.

I realise I got this wrong, its just called by another name Board view.

I believe there is a feature that allows people to date stamp the posts or mark them as read. I will have to find out for sure how it works.

For me, I usually just go by the threads’ COLOR. The color changed once the post is read and that’s how I usually tell.

This is NOT the final product yet. There are already several enhancements and customization in the works, please keep the feedback coming so that I can add them to the list.

Thanks.

To the RIGHT of each thread, there is a little icon that looks like this, click it and it will give you a linear view. This feature will be improved very shortly.

Thank you. This is NOT the final version yet. There will be enhancements and customization made to the forum very very soon. I am gathering all the feedback at this point so that I know what needs to be changed.

You should have ONE full day to edit your post. Let me know if you are unable to do so. But this is ONLY for registered members. If you posted as a guest or unregistered member, then you will not be able to edit your post. Please go to this link to register an account and you will be able to edit your post http://www.hairsite.com/hair-loss/register.php

Only if you are a registered member and if you turn on the email feature in the user menu.

The math hurdle is for people who wants to post without logging in. If you register an account, you will not be prompted to do the math each time you post.

It was fine the way it was. Thats just my opinion.

This one is a lot easier for my eyes. The old one was very difficult to read.

I think that when you press refresh / mark all as read which are the little red circular arrows then all the arrows next to the posts turn grey. The problem is that they do not seem to turn grey from red when they are read.

Just athought; the board view that shows all of the posts has a very small icon rather than the previous “view all” icon. Could this be madfe bigger. Good luck with the teething troubles anyway.

YES, already taken care of. You will see bigger icons for VIEW ALL when the script has been upgraded. thanks…

Hello hairsite,

is there a way, when you’re registered and want to answer a post, to be brought directly to the login page and then to the answer post ? That used to be that way in the old forum and was useful for a quick answer & login combo. At present time, if one wants to answer a post, one has to first login and then re-find the post where to answer, it’s a bit redundant sometimes …

thanks in advance
FE

Unfortunately, not possible at this point, that may be a major script change and I am not sure if that can be done just yet.

However, if you really want to, you can still post a quick reply without logging in. The forum will ask ask you do a simple math calculation and then you can post without logging in. But you will have to slightly modify your username, make it FataEvolution2 or something like that.

Let me think of other ways to get around this…

Thanks
