I did, but now I’ve got temple recession and the crown is starting to thin as well.

I asked because most of the people Imknow that shed and regrow were the ones that were seeing progress at first. Pls don’t let anyone including me persuade you into continuing if you don’t want to. Nobody knows for sure how anyone will react.
Although I notice a tremendous difference in the thickness and density of my hair on top of my head since the shedding, my crown continues to dissapoint me. Realizing it’s been only 30 days since my HUGE shed, maybe it’s still too early to draw a conclusion. What’s the upside? The fact that the shed wasn’t permenent and that things are turning around. The downside? My crown has improved yet.
I’m going to give it another month or two to see if any visual growth takes place in my crown, otherwise i’m considering increasing my dose to 2.5mg daily for 1 yr and then dropping it to 0.5mg daily.

1mg of dut supresses pretty much the same amound of serum and scalp dht as 0.5mg. No sense in upping the dose unless there will be a drastic difference i suppose.

From reading the above I think there’s a very huge difference in the increase of scalp dht supression. That’s where, in my opinion, the difference in regrowth will lyes. And at the 2.5mg dose is where the studies shown the best results and regrowth in their patients.
I’ve read in many articles that the sides associated with dut go away with continnued use. I knwo that from experience after noticing some sides, the biggest being libido decrease, when taking dut, but they went away long time ago. I hope the same will apply when i increase my dose to 2.5mg - if sides are noticed they go away. After a yr or so dropping the dose back to 0.5mg.
I’m not sure I’ll do this yet. I’m going to wait to see if I get same regrowth in my crown first. if not, i think i will increase (it will be expensive).

I’m very conservative when it comes to prescription meds, and I just wouldn’t recommend using more than the prescribed dosage. If you’re not using nizoral and rogain in conjunction with DUT, you’re definitely not getting everything out of the .5mg dose that you could be, so I’d max out that potential before moving on to a higher dosage. Not to mention that 2.5 mg a day would probably end up costing $600+/month. At that price, you might as well get a some nice FUE work done.

I see where ure coming from. I’ll give it a few more months with the 3 combo.
The dut at 2.5mg (5 caps/day) for a 12 month supply (1,825 caps) will cost me $1,325 total. Thats about $110.40 a month.

So to clarify, you saw a shed start at about 6 months in, and it ended 4 months later, with your hair improving from the baseline?
Great to hear Mj. The toughest is getting through those sheds but good results will come like the ones you are starting to see. I’ve still been taking 1.5mg each day and now I’m seeing big improvment in the crown and gains in the temples. Although there are some negatives such as large reduction in beard and body hair in general with more skin sensitivity. The libido suffered a hit at first but is now back to normal. Moreover, I feel more irritable at times and seem to get angry quicker. Maybe this is due to the increase in testosterone??

Most people actually think lesser beard and body hair is good, you consider it a negative?
Past few months I was seeing a decrease in body hair as well, but recently it’s come back to normal. I guess because of the very low dose I’m currently temporarily taking.
Aha, so that may explain my sudden skin sensitivity. I itch out of nowhere and its annoying!
I suffered a loss of libido too but bounced back to better than normal. And the increased agression is due to the increased test levels. I would add a topical anti androgen if I were you because the frontal hairline area is sensitive to testosterone.
