who said that? you? :))). ok mate, sorry no cure in the next 5 years from follica for sure. they are doing some dermabrasion studies, and are working on drug delivery systems. no hairgrowth expected, no drug candidate either. Trials will take a decade. they have not started them and do not even plan to do so in any near future.

I don’t think it will be any surprise to you that a commercial cure will STILL be a long way off. However, I’m quite satisfied that the know-how exists NOW.

well all the evidence so far shows that it does not grow hair back on humans. its definately worth testing, but there is no reason to expect it will work.
So far all the top treatments for hairloss - minoxidil, propexcia, avodart- have been stumbled upon by accident. I bet we’ll have another “accidental” cure before any success with follica.

Follica itself is something if an accident, dude, Dr cot saw some white hair on a mouse and heard cash registers ringing somewhere…

I’m seeing extra solitary hairs that MUST be rejuvenated as opposed to newly generated. It’s way too early for any solid results yet but I’m optimistic due to Mike’s experience. I DO, however, have a mass of unpigmented vellus hair that ALSO must be rejuvenated as it is too early to be ‘de nouveau’.
Mike is emphatic about his results and is so convinced that we have the answer that he sent me a gefitinib topical to use in the experiment.
I was very impressed with the uniformity of the peel. EVERY single bit of bare scalp on top of my head has shed it’s skin so I’m hoping for a uniform spread of hair sprouting. Timeline, according to Mike, is a little longer than in the patent experiments. Human skin grafted onto immunodeficient mice grew new follicles in 7 days. However, the skin was supported by the metabolism of a mouse. Mike reckons that it took him up to 2 months to see little baby sprouts of pigmented hair in areas that were previously bald for many years.
You can be sure that if I get results, I will post pics here and my previous ones will serve as ‘before’ pics. I won’t post pics unless I have results that will forever silence the pessimists and have the HT doctors sweating over a new curriculum vitae.

Id rather you posted results in any case rly. Your last results for example were better then I expected they would be. I know many ppl just were disapointed but who cares about newbs who have only all or nothing in their minds.

afaik propecia was not an accident. they were thinking about trialing it for hair since the initial development. Prostate was just safer bet so they did it first.
Ok well this is from Zohar’s interview from back in Jan last year! So you can see where Max has got the idea results should be out soon! She says at least a year so maybe a couple more months yet!
“A proof of concept study involving 15 to 20 patients (Follica has no shortage of volunteers, as several hundred people sent in e-mails when word of Cotsarelis’s work reached the public) should begin in the next few months. The trial has several phases, however, and Zohar cautions that final data won’t be in for at least a year”
This second point is taken out of the interview Zohar gave in August after their second round of funding!
“This financing will enable us to build out the company and move well down the path towards [regulatory] approval,” says Daphne Zohar, managing director of PureTech Ventures (and an Xconomist). “Our research has been progressing in a very positive way. We have had significant interest from the venture community and while we just closed the Series A round a few months ago, and weren’t planning on bringing in more money for a couple of years, we recognize that additional funds enable us to move more quickly.
The two interesting points for me is that she states that they werent planning on getting more money for another couple of years! That shows that in terms of research and trials you are looking at 2 more years at the very least!
Second point which to me gives hope is that they are moving forward quickly and taking on that kind of funding implies that research is going very well!
Like Debris said earlier, they are currently testing Derm and delivery systems! I would imagine (hope) results will come this year!
Yeah,Follica have a fully working product & they will release it once there is peace in the Middle East.Looks like we will all have our “cure” in approximately…NEVER !

Those hairs will slowly improve… and I mean slooooowly…What I’ve done looks like it will bring the hairs I should have and I should be thrilled about that, however, like I’ve said in the past, I’m greedy. I went straight across, ie. girls hairline or NW 0 and those new babies looks like it can take 5 years to get there if at all. I’m very interested in what you (baccy) are since I would inhibit wnt this time around if I could. Unfortunately, I have to wait until May or so to try again. I hope u grow John Stamos like hairs. We should be phucking around with this stuff topically…but to each his own right. BTW, Frankie B just did another round of wounding. He is pretty much doing what baccy is doing. Damn! I want in but it is too soon for me.
is anyone of you seeing multiple hairs coming out of a single follicle? I just noticed that on my chest - two hairs from same follicle in about half of the chest hair, talk about density!

It seems to me that every couple-of-months we get a new guy that joins hairsite whose been butchered by an HT doc, and whose bitter in every comment he posts… only to dissapear/ be replaced by an equally butchered, and bitter poster.
Look man I/We get it. HT suck (it’s overpriced, and inconsistent at best),
and HM is a crapshoot at the moment, BUT this negativeity will only make you sicker, so give it a break.
