Dear forum readers,
Veer has a NW 6 level of hairloss.
He underwent 2338 scalp, 2850 beard and 1024 chest grafts (total = 6212 FUSE grafts) procedure in one session lasting over 5 consecutive days. No strip, no stitches - all grafts extracted by the FUSE/fue method.
These grafts were transplanted to the front half of his area of hairloss. 11 months after his transplant, he is happy with the progress and plans to go for the next session to fill in the crown-swirl area too.
» Great result but I wouldnt’ say he is exactly norwood 6 , maybe he will be
» one day but he was not norwood according to the pics.
Dear reiner,
There is a range in each norwood level.
What is important when determining the norwood level of a person is to disregard the miniaturizing/miniaturized vellus hair. Only the thick terminal hair is considered.
That is why Veer is classified a NW 6.
True there are NW 6s with slick bald top too.
Regards,
Dr. A
How long would the recovery period be from a procedure such as this?
I have had multiple (not on consecutive day’s) procedures performed and on the third day would experience swelling in the forehead followed at times with bruising around the eyes. These effects would subside in approximately 7 days. Is there different approach when dealing with such a large procedure over consecutive days?

I too had very bad swelling about 3 days after the surgery, it seems that it happens quite often and there is really no way to prevent that from happening unfortunately.

I would love to be able to do a complete restoration on consecutive days I was just wondering how the scalp would hold up, given that I have experienced swelling, discomfort to a certain degree at three days after one procedure.

Dear JJ09,
I have not come across severe swelling in my patients. And definitely never a black eye.
6000+ FUSE grafts usually take 5 consecutive days procedure.
