Under Arm hair

I know Umar uses it and Dr. Woods is adamently against it. What about Dr. Cole? I read Dr. Woods response about the hair smelling like arm pits, but i would think the glands would be removed and isn’t the majority of odor from arm pit hair from bacteria in a warm moist environment. Interesting how two doctors have two very beliefs on this issue.

Rooster you are right… Most of the odor comes from bacteria, but some odor is from specific glands that secrete a substance during stress… however a stench is probably related to bacteria. And there have been no reports of arm pit BHT smells of any sort on top of the head. But coming from a technician standpoint that worked in BHT… Arm pit hair, while it can be done, it is sort of difficult. The hairs are definitely entrenched in that area, and transections are unusually high. Pubic hairs are similar too.

As far as discrepancies between clinics… well welcome to the hair industry.

Hairtech, thanks for the reply. I’m trying to figure out my game plan going forward and your info is helpful.

Why not beard hair? It’s more robust than underarm and you won’t have to worry about the odor issue.

Good point, beard hair is definitly in the equation.

I’m getting beard hair into my strip scar. I was told beard hair sometimes exceeds the caliber of scalp hair. But it looks best short.

It depends on the individual. I work in downtown Denver now and I find myself looking at different folks… mainly those folks that are homeless, and don’t shave at all. Some of these guys have such long beards and scalp hair and you can’t even distinguish the two apart. I believe beard hair has the highest potential in my own book. Better potential than most other parts. But with that you find other risks… Just make sure you continue to research and not be hasty and jump into anything too fast. Not one BHT clinic can provide a predictability to what will and will not grow. A test session has now become a standard way to cautiously approach a BHT. And even then you should still be cautious. What you find posted one hair forums are the best of the best. Which in BHT is not many cases. Just be cautious rooster.
